Let my utterance be expected as rain, and let my words come down as dew, as a shower on grass and as a snowfall on herbs.
For I have called upon the name of the Lord; give greatness to our God.
God: true are his works, and all his ways are judgments; a faithful God and there is no unrighteousness in him, righteous and holy is the Lord
They sinned, not toward him, blemished children, a crooked and perverse generation
Do you thus repay the Lord, foolish and not wise people? Is not this himself your father, who acquired you and made you and created you?
Remember the days of old; understand the years of generation upon generations; ask your father, and he will declare to you, your elders, and they will tell you.
When the Most High was distributing the nations, when he scattered the sons of Adam, he set the boundaries of the nations according to the number of the angels of God.
And the Lord’s portion became his people, Jacob; the measuring line of his inheritance, Israel.
He found him sufficient in a desert land, in thirst of heat, in a waterless place; he encircled him and instructed him and guarded him as the pupil of an eye
As an eagle, to cover his nest and to long over his young, spreading his wings he received them and took them up on his back
The Lord alone was leading them, and there was no alien god with them.
He made them ride upon the strength of the land; he fed them with produce of the fields; they sucked honey out of a rock and oil out of a hard rock
Butter of cattle and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs and rams, sons of bulls and goats, with fat of kidneys of wheat; and the blood of the grape they drank as wine.
And Jacob ate and was filled and kicked; the beloved one grew fat, grew thick, grew broad, and he abandoned God who made him and departed from God his savior.
They made me jealous with strangers; with their abominations they provoked me to bitterness.
They sacrificed to demons and not to God, to gods whom they had not known, new ones, recent ones, have come, whom their fathers had not known
You abandoned the God who begot you, and you forgot God who nourishes you
And the Lord saw and was jealous and was provoked to anger by the wrath of his sons and daughters
And he said, I will turn my face away from them and show what will be to them in the last things, because it is a perverse generation, sons in whom there is no faithfulness in them.
They made me jealous with a no-god; they angered me with their idols. And I will make them jealous with a no-nation; with a foolish nation I will anger them.
For a fire has been kindled from my wrath, it shall burn down to Hades below; it shall devour the land and its produce, and it shall set the foundations of the mountains on fire
I will gather evils upon them, and I will finish my arrows upon them
They will be wasted with famine and by the eating of birds and incurable tetanus; I will send the teeth of beasts against them, with anger of those dragging on the ground.
Outside, the sword shall bereave them, and from the chambers terror: young man together with virgin, nursing child with gray-haired man.
I said, I will scatter them; I will make their memory cease from among men.
if not because of the anger of enemies, lest they should continue long, and lest the adversaries who oppose should join together, lest they should say, Our hand is the high one, and not the Lord did all these things
For they are a nation having lost counsel, and there is no understanding among them.
They were not sensible to understand these things; let them accept them for the coming time.
How shall one pursue a thousand, and two shall move ten thousands, unless God had sold them, and the Lord had delivered them up?
For not as our God are their gods, but our enemies are senseless
For their vine is from the vine of Sodom, and their tendril from Gomorrah; their cluster is a cluster of gall, bitter grapes are theirs.
Their wine is the wrath of dragons, and the wrath of vipers is incurable.
Is not these things stored up with me and sealed in my treasures?
In a day of vengeance I will repay, in the time when their foot shall slip, because the day of their destruction is near, and the things prepared are at hand for you
For the Lord will judge his people, and he will be comforted over his servants, for he saw them loosened and failing in pressure and let go to the side
And the Lord said, Where are their gods, on which they were trusting in them?
whose fat of their sacrifices you were eating and were drinking the wine of their drink offerings; let them arise and help you, and let them become protectors for you
See, see that I am, and there is no God except me; I kill and I make alive; I strike and I myself will heal; and there is no one who will deliver out of my hands.
For I will lift up my hand to heaven, and I will swear by my right hand, and I will say, I live forever.
For I will sharpen my sword like lightning, and my hand shall take hold of judgment, and I will repay vengeance to my enemies, and to those who hate me I will repay
I will drench my arrows with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh, from the blood of wounded and captive, from the head of rulers of enemies
Rejoice, O heavens, together with him, and let all sons of God worship him; rejoice, O nations, with his people, and let all angels of God strengthen themselves with him, because he avenges the blood of his sons and will avenge, and he will repay justice to his enemies, and to those who hate him he will repay, and the Lord will cleanse the land of his people
And Moses wrote this song on that day and taught it to the sons of Israel, and Moses went in and spoke all the words of this law in the ears of the people, he and Joshua son of Nun
And Moses finished speaking to all Israel
And he said to them, Take heed to your heart over all these words which I testify to you today, which you shall command your sons to keep and to do all the words of this law.
for this is not an empty word for you, because this is your life, and because of this word you shall live long on the land into which you are crossing over the Jordan there to inherit it
And the Lord spoke to Moses on that day, saying
Go up into this mountain, this mount Abarim, mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, opposite Jericho, and see the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the sons of Israel for a possession.
and die on the mountain to which you are going up there, and be gathered to your people, in the manner Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people
because you disobeyed my word among the sons of Israel at the water of contradiction, Kadesh, in the wilderness of Sin, because you did not sanctify me among the sons of Israel
For you shall see the land before you, and there you shall not enter.
