Send your bread on the face of the water, for in the fullness of days you will find it

Ecclesiastes 11

Text size:
Give a portion to the seven, and indeed to the eight, because you do not know what evil will be on the earth.
If the clouds are filled with rain upon the earth, they pour it out; and if a tree falls in the south place, and if in the north place, where the tree falls, there it will be.
One who watches the wind will not sow, and one who looks at the clouds will not reap.
As you do not know what is the way of the spirit, as the bones are in the womb of the one bearing, so you will not know the works of God, how many he will do, with all things
In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening let not your hand rest, for you do not know which will prosper, whether this or that, and if both together are good.
And sweet is the light, and good for the eyes to see the sun.
For even if a man lives many years, in all of them he shall rejoice, and he shall remember the days of darkness, because they will be many; all that is coming is vanity.
Rejoice, young man, in your youth, and let your heart do you good in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart and in the sight of your eyes; and know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
Therefore remove anger from your heart and turn away evil from your flesh, because youth and folly are vanity
