This month shall be for you the beginning of months; it is the first for you among the months of the year.
Speak to all the assembly of the sons of Israel, saying: On the tenth of this month let each take a lamb according to the houses of the fathers, each a lamb according to a house.
But if those in the house are few, so as not to be sufficient for a lamb, he shall take with himself his neighbor nearby, according to the number of souls; each shall be counted with him according to what is sufficient for him for a lamb.
Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of one year; from the lambs and from the kids you shall take it
And it shall be kept for you until the fourteenth day of this month, and the whole assembly of the congregation of the sons of Israel shall slaughter it at evening.
And they shall take from the blood and shall put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel in the houses in which they shall eat them in them
And they shall eat the flesh in this night, roasted with fire, and unleavened things; on bitter herbs they shall eat it
You shall not eat any of it raw or boiled in water, but roasted with fire, its head with its feet and its entrails.
You shall not leave any of it until morning, and you shall not break a bone of it; but the leftovers of it until morning you shall burn with fire
And thus you shall eat it: your loins girded, and your sandals on your feet, and your staffs in your hands; and you shall eat it in haste. It is a Passover to the Lord.
And I will pass through in the land of Egypt in this night, and I will strike every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from man unto beast, and on all the gods of the Egyptians I will execute vengeance; I am the Lord.
And the blood shall be for you as a sign on the houses in which you are there, and I will see the blood and cover you, and there shall not be among you a plague to destroy, when I strike in the land of Egypt.
And this day shall be for you a memorial, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout all your generations, an everlasting ordinance; you shall keep it.
Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, but from the first day you shall remove leaven from your houses; anyone who eats leaven, that soul shall be cut off from Israel, from the first day until the seventh day
And the first day shall be called holy, and the seventh day shall be a holy calling for you; you shall not do any servile work in them, except what shall be done for every soul; this alone shall be done for you.
And you shall keep this commandment, for on this day I will bring out your army from the land of Egypt, and you shall make this day into an everlasting statute for your generations.
From the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month, until evening
Seven days leaven shall not be found in your houses; everyone who should eat leavened food, that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, both among the sojourners and among the native-born of the land.
You shall not eat anything leavened; but in all your dwellings you shall eat unleavened bread.
And Moses called all the elders of the sons of Israel and said to them, Go, take for yourselves a lamb according to your families, and sacrifice the Passover.
And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dipping in the blood that is beside the door, you shall touch the lintel and on both doorposts with the blood that is beside the door, and you shall not go out, each one, through the door of his house until morning
And the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and he will see the blood on the lintel and on both doorposts, and the Lord will pass by the door and will not allow the destroyer to enter into your houses to strike.
And you shall keep this saying as a statute for yourself and for your sons forever
And if you enter into the land that the Lord should give you, as he spoke, you shall keep this service.
And it shall be, if your sons say to you, What is this service?
And you shall say to them, This passover sacrifice is to the Lord, because he covered over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians, but he delivered our houses; and the people bowed and worshiped.
And the sons of Israel went away and did as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron; so they did
And it came to pass at midnight, and the Lord struck every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who was sitting on the throne, to the firstborn of the captive woman who was in the pit, and to the firstborn of every beast.
And Pharaoh rose up by night, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians, and there was a great cry in all the land of Egypt, for there was no house in which there was not one dead in it.
And Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron by night and said to them, Rise up and go out from among my people, both you and the sons of Israel; go and serve the Lord your God, as you say.
And take both your sheep and your cattle and go; and bless me also.
And the Egyptians were pressing the people urgently to cast them out from the land, for they said, For we are all dying.
And the people took the dough before it was leavened, bound up in their garments upon their shoulders
And the sons of Israel did as Moses had ordered them, and they asked from the Egyptians silver vessels and gold vessels and clothing.
And the Lord gave favor to his people before the Egyptians, and they lent to them, and they despoiled the Egyptians.
And the sons of Israel set out from Rameses to Sokchotha, about six hundred thousand on foot, the men, besides the baggage
And a large mixed multitude went up with them, and sheep and cattle and very many livestock.
And they baked the dough that they brought out of Egypt into unleavened cakes, for it had not been leavened, for the Egyptians drove them out, and they were not able to remain, nor did they prepare provisions for themselves for the way.
And the sojourning of the sons of Israel, which they sojourned in the land of Egypt and in the land of Canaan, was four hundred and thirty years.
And it came to pass after the four hundred and thirty years, all the host of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.
A night of watching it is to the Lord, so as to bring them out from the land of Egypt; that night is this night of watching to the Lord, so that for all the sons of Israel it is for their generations
And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, saying: This is the law of the passover: every foreigner shall not eat of it.
And every slave of anyone, or one bought with silver, you shall circumcise him, and then he shall eat of it.
A sojourner or a hired worker shall not eat of it.
In one house it shall be eaten, and you shall not carry any of the meat out of the house, and you shall not break a bone of it.
The whole congregation of the sons of Israel shall do it.
But if any proselyte comes to you to keep the Passover to the Lord, you shall circumcise every male of him, and then he shall come to keep it, and he shall be as the native of the land. Every uncircumcised person shall not eat of it.
There shall be one law for the native and for the proselyte who has come among you
And the sons of Israel did as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron concerning them; thus they did.
And it came to pass on that day that the Lord brought out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt with their forces
