And it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth of the month, and I was in the midst of the captivity by the river Chobar, and the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God

in the fifth of the month, this was the fifth year of the captivity of King Jehoiakim

And the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel son of Buzi the priest in the land of the Chaldeans by the river of Chebar, and the hand of the Lord came upon me

And I saw, and behold, a lifting wind was coming from the north, and a great cloud in it, and brightness around it, and flashing fire, and in the middle of it like the appearance of electrum in the middle of the fire, and brightness in it

And in the middle, as the likeness of four living creatures; and this was their appearance: a likeness of a man upon them.

and four faces to one, and four wings to one

and their legs were straight, and their feet were winged, and their sparks like flashing bronze, and their wings were light

and the hand of a man was from underneath their wings on their four sides, and their faces, of the four

They did not turn in their going; each went straight before its face.

And the likeness of their faces: the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right side to the four, and the face of a calf on the left side to the four, and the face of an eagle to the four

And their wings were spread out above, to the four, each two joined to one another, and two covered over their body.

And each went straight before his face; wherever the spirit was going, they were going, and they did not turn back.

And in the midst of the living creatures there was an appearance like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches moving to and fro among the living creatures; and the brightness of the fire, and from the fire went out lightning.

And I saw, and behold, one wheel on the earth beside the four living creatures

And the appearance of the wheels was like the appearance of tarshish, and one likeness for the four, and their work was as if a wheel were in a wheel.

Toward their four directions they went; they did not turn back in their going.

and their backs, and there was height to them; and I saw them, and their backs were full of eyes all around for the four of them

And when the living creatures went, the wheels went alongside them, and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

Wherever the cloud was, there the spirit to go, they went, the living beings and the wheels, and they were lifted up with them, because there was the spirit of life in the wheels.

In their going, they went, and in their standing, they stood, and in their lifting up from the earth, they were lifted up with them, because the spirit of life was in the wheels.

And a likeness above the head of the living creatures to them, as it were a firmament like the appearance of crystal, stretched out over their wings above.

And underneath the firmament their wings stretched out, fluttering, one to the other; each had two joined together, covering their bodies

And I heard the sound of their wings when they went, like the sound of many waters, and when they stood, their wings rested.

And behold, a voice from above the firmament that was over their heads

as the appearance of a sapphire stone was the likeness of a throne upon it, and upon the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the form of a man above it

And I saw as the appearance of electrum, from the appearance of the loins and upward, and from the appearance of the loins and downward I saw as the appearance of fire, and its brightness all around.

Like the appearance of a bow when it is in the cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And I saw, and I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of one speaking.
