Bel has fallen, Dagon has been shattered; their carved images have become for beasts and cattle. Carry them away, bound down, as a burden to the one who is weary.

and to the one hungering and weakened, unable at the same time, who will not be able to be saved from war; but they themselves were led captive

Hear me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of Israel, who are borne from the womb and carried from infancy.

Even to old age I am, and until you grow old I am; I bear with you, I made, and I will bear; I will take up and I will save you

To whom have you likened me? Look, contrive it, you who are being led astray.

Those who weigh out gold from the purse and silver in the balance will set it up with a weight, and having hired a goldsmith, they made handmade things, and bowing down they worship them

They lift it on the shoulders and go, but if they set it on its place, it stays; it shall by no means be moved. And whoever may cry out to it, it shall by no means hear, nor shall it save him from evils.

Remember these things and groan; repent, you who have gone astray; turn back in heart.
