The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to captives and recovery of sight to the blind

to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord and a day of recompense, to comfort all who mourn

to give to those mourning Zion glory instead of ashes, the anointing of gladness to those mourning, a robe of glory instead of a spirit of despondency; and they shall be called generations of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, for glory

And they shall build the everlasting desolations, the places laid waste before they shall raise up, and they shall renew desolate cities, laid waste for generations.

And strangers shall come, shepherding your sheep, and foreigners, plowmen and vinedressers.

But you shall be called priests of the Lord, ministers of God; you shall eat the strength of nations, and in their wealth you shall be admired.

So from the second time they shall inherit the land, and everlasting gladness over their head

For I am the Lord, the one loving righteousness and hating plunder from injustice; and I will give their labor to the righteous, and I will make an eternal covenant with them.

And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among all who see them shall know them, that these are a seed blessed by God

and in gladness they shall rejoice in the Lord; let my soul exult in the Lord, for he has clothed me with a garment of salvation and a tunic of gladness; as a bridegroom he has put a mitre on me, and as a bride he has adorned me with adornment

For as the earth bringing forth its blossom, and as a garden its seeds, so the Lord will cause righteousness and exultation to spring up before all the nations
