τοὺς λόγους τῆς διαθήκης ταύτης καὶ λαλήσεις πρὸς ἄνδρας Ιουδα καὶ πρὸς τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Ιερουσαλημ
Hear the words of this covenant, and you shall speak to the men of Judah and to those who dwell in Jerusalem.
ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ ἐπικατάρατος ὁ ἄνθρωπος ὃς οὐκ ἀκούσεται τῶν λόγων τῆς διαθήκης ταύτης
And you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Cursed is the man who will not hear the words of this covenant.
ἐνετειλάμην τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἀνήγαγον αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐκ καμίνου τῆς σιδηρᾶς λέγων ἀκούσατε τῆς φωνῆς μου καὶ ποιήσατε πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν ἐντείλωμαι ὑμῖν καὶ ἔσεσθέ μοι εἰς λαόν καὶ ἐγὼ ἔσομαι ὑμῖν εἰς θεόν
which I commanded your fathers on the day when I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying, Hear my voice and do all that I may command you, and you shall be to me for a people, and I will be to you for God
στήσω τὸν ὅρκον μου ὃν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν τοῦ δοῦναι αὐτοῖς γῆν ῥέουσαν γάλα καὶ μέλι καθὼς ἡ ἡμέρα αὕτη καὶ ἀπεκρίθην καὶ εἶπα γένοιτο κύριε
so that I may establish my oath which I swore to your fathers to give to them a land flowing with milk and honey, as this day is; and I answered and said, May it be, Lord
εἶπεν κύριος πρός με ἀνάγνωθι τοὺς λόγους τούτους ἐν πόλεσιν Ιουδα καὶ ἔξωθεν Ιερουσαλημ λέγων ἀκούσατε τοὺς λόγους τῆς διαθήκης ταύτης καὶ ποιήσατε αὐτούς
And the Lord said to me, Read these words in the cities of Judah and outside Jerusalem, saying, Hear the words of this covenant and do them.
and they did not do it
And the Lord said to me, A conspiracy has been found among the men of Judah and among those who dwell in Jerusalem.
ἐπὶ τὰς ἀδικίας τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν τῶν πρότερον οἳ οὐκ ἤθελον εἰσακοῦσαι τῶν λόγων μου καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτοὶ βαδίζουσιν ὀπίσω θεῶν ἀλλοτρίων τοῦ δουλεύειν αὐτοῖς καὶ διεσκέδασαν οἶκος Ισραηλ καὶ οἶκος Ιουδα τὴν διαθήκην μου ἣν διεθέμην πρὸς τοὺς πατέρας αὐτῶν
They have turned back to the injustices of their fathers before them, who were not willing to listen to my words, and behold, they themselves are walking after foreign gods, to serve them; and the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant, which I made with their fathers.
τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον κακά ἐξ ὧν οὐ δυνήσονται ἐξελθεῖν ἐξ αὐτῶν καὶ κεκράξονται πρός με καὶ οὐκ εἰσακούσομαι αὐτῶν
Therefore thus says the Lord: behold, I am bringing evils upon this people, from which they will not be able to escape; and they will cry out to me, and I will not listen to them.
πορεύσονται πόλεις Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικοῦντες Ιερουσαλημ καὶ κεκράξονται πρὸς τοὺς θεούς οἷς αὐτοὶ θυμιῶσιν αὐτοῖς μὴ σώσουσιν αὐτοὺς ἐν καιρῷ τῶν κακῶν αὐτῶν
And the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem will go and will cry out to the gods to whom they themselves offer incense, but they will not save them in the time of their evils
κατ᾿ ἀριθμὸν τῶν πόλεών σου ἦσαν θεοί σου Ιουδα καὶ κατ᾿ ἀριθμὸν ἐξόδων τῆς Ιερουσαλημ ἐτάξατε βωμοὺς θυμιᾶν τῇ Βααλ
For according to the number of your cities were your gods, Judah, and according to the number of the exits of Jerusalem you set up altars to burn incense to Baal
σὺ μὴ προσεύχου περὶ τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου καὶ μὴ ἀξίου περὶ αὐτῶν ἐν δεήσει καὶ προσευχῇ ὅτι οὐκ εἰσακούσομαι ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐν ᾧ ἐπικαλοῦνταί με ἐν καιρῷ κακώσεως αὐτῶν
And do not pray for this people, and do not make request for them in supplication and prayer, because I will not listen in the time when they call upon me in the time of their affliction.
ἡ ἠγαπημένη ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ μου ἐποίησεν βδέλυγμα μὴ εὐχαὶ καὶ κρέα ἅγια ἀφελοῦσιν ἀπὸ σοῦ τὰς κακίας σου ἢ τούτοις διαφεύξῃ
What has my beloved done in my house, that she has done abomination? Shall vows and holy flesh remove your evils from you, or by these things will you escape?
ὡραίαν εὔσκιον τῷ εἴδει ἐκάλεσεν κύριος τὸ ὄνομά σου εἰς φωνὴν περιτομῆς αὐτῆς ἀνήφθη πῦρ ἐπ᾿ αὐτήν μεγάλη ἡ θλῖψις ἐπὶ σέ ἠχρεώθησαν οἱ κλάδοι αὐτῆς
A beautiful, well-shaded olive tree in form the Lord called your name; at the sound of its pruning fire was kindled upon it. Great tribulation upon you; its branches have become worthless.
κύριος ὁ καταφυτεύσας σε ἐλάλησεν ἐπὶ σὲ κακὰ ἀντὶ τῆς κακίας οἴκου Ισραηλ καὶ οἴκου Ιουδα ὅτι ἐποίησαν ἑαυτοῖς τοῦ παροργίσαι με ἐν τῷ θυμιᾶν αὐτοὺς τῇ Βααλ
And the Lord, who planted you, has spoken evils against you because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, because they did for themselves to provoke me to anger by their burning incense to Baal.
Lord, make it known to me, and I shall know; then I saw their practices.
δὲ ὡς ἀρνίον ἄκακον ἀγόμενον τοῦ θύεσθαι οὐκ ἔγνων ἐπ᾿ ἐμὲ ἐλογίσαντο λογισμὸν πονηρὸν λέγοντες δεῦτε καὶ ἐμβάλωμεν ξύλον εἰς τὸν ἄρτον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐκτρίψωμεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ γῆς ζώντων καὶ τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ μνησθῇ ἔτι
But I was like a harmless lamb being led to be sacrificed; I did not know. They devised against me an evil plan, saying, Come, let us put wood into his bread and let us wipe him out from the land of the living, and his name shall no more be remembered.
κρίνων δίκαια δοκιμάζων νεφροὺς καὶ καρδίας ἴδοιμι τὴν παρὰ σοῦ ἐκδίκησιν ἐξ αὐτῶν ὅτι πρὸς σὲ ἀπεκάλυψα τὸ δικαίωμά μου
Lord, judging justly, testing kidneys and hearts, let me see the vengeance from you upon them, for to you I have revealed my cause.
τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ τοὺς ἄνδρας Αναθωθ τοὺς ζητοῦντας τὴν ψυχήν μου τοὺς λέγοντας οὐ μὴ προφητεύσῃς ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου εἰ δὲ μή ἀποθανῇ ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν ἡμῶν
Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the men of Anathoth, those seeking my life, those saying, You shall not prophesy in the name of the Lord, or else you shall die by our hands.
ἐγὼ ἐπισκέψομαι ἐπ᾿ αὐτούς οἱ νεανίσκοι αὐτῶν ἐν μαχαίρᾳ ἀποθανοῦνται καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες αὐτῶν τελευτήσουσιν ἐν λιμῷ
Behold, I will visit upon them; their young men shall die by the sword, and their sons and their daughters shall die by famine.
ἐγκατάλειμμα οὐκ ἔσται αὐτῶν ὅτι ἐπάξω κακὰ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Αναθωθ ἐν ἐνιαυτῷ ἐπισκέψεως αὐτῶν
and there shall be no remnant of them, because I will bring evils upon those dwelling in Anathoth in the year of their visitation
