And the boundaries of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh came to be, because he was the firstborn to Joseph, to Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead, for he was a warrior man in Gilead and in Bashan.
And it became for the sons of Manasseh, the remaining ones, according to their clans: for the sons of Jezer and for the sons of Helek and for the sons of Asriel and for the sons of Shechem and for the sons of Shemida and for the sons of Hepher. These were the male ones according to their clans.
And to Zelophehad son of Hepher there were no sons to him but daughters; and these are the names of Zelophehad’s daughters: Mahlah and Noah and Hoglah and Milcah and Tirzah
And they stood before Eleazar the priest and before Joshua and before the rulers, saying, God commanded by the hand of Moses to give us an inheritance among the midst of our brothers; and a lot was given to them by command of the Lord among the brothers of their father.
For the daughters of the sons of Manasseh inherited an inheritance among their brothers, and the land of Gilead became for the sons of Manasseh who were left behind
And the borders of the sons of Manasseh became, Delanath, which is before the sons of Anath, and it goes to the borders to Jamin and Jassib, to the spring of Thaphthoth
And the borders shall go down to the ravine of Karana to the south, along the ravine of Iariel, the terebinth of Ephraim, in the midst of the city of Manasseh; and the borders of Manasseh shall be to the north to the winter torrent, and its outlet shall be the sea.
On the south to Ephraim, and on the north to Manasseh, and the sea shall be their border, and they shall join with Asher on the north, and with Issachar from the east.
And Manasseh shall have in Issachar and in Asher Bethsan and its villages, and those dwelling in Dor and its villages, and those dwelling in Mageddo and its villages, and the third part of Napheta and its villages
And the sons of Joseph answered Joshua, saying, Why have you allotted to us one lot and one measuring line? And I am a numerous people, and God has blessed me.
And they said, The hill country of Ephraim will not suffice for us, and the Canaanite who dwells in it has chosen horse and iron, in Bethshan and in its villages in the valley of Jezreel.
For the forest shall be yours, because it is a forest, and you shall clear it, and it shall be yours; and when you shall destroy the Canaanite, because he has a chosen horse, for you are stronger than he is.
