And it happened after days, in the days of the wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife, bringing a kid of the goats, and he said, I will go in to my wife into the inner room. But her father did not allow him to go in to her.

And her father said, saying, I said that hating you hated her, and I gave her to your companion; is not, behold, her sister, the younger, better than she? Let her now be to you instead of her.

And Samson said to him, I am guiltless this once from the Philistines, because I am doing evil with you.

And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took torches, and tied tail to tail, and put one torch between the two tails in the middle

And he kindled fire in the torches and sent it into the sheaves of the Philistines, and it burned up the standing grain and the stacked grain, from the heap and even to the standing grain and even to the vineyard and the olive tree.

And the Philistines said, Who did these things? And they said, Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he took his wife and gave her to his companion. And the Philistines went up and burned with fire the house of her father, and her and her father, in fire.

And Samson said to them, If you do thus, I will not be well pleased, but I will take my vengeance on each one of you, one by one.

And he struck them leg upon thigh with a very great blow, and he went down and dwelt by the torrent in the cave of Etam

And the Philistines went up and encamped against Judah and spread out in Lehi

And every man of Judah said to them, Why have you come up against us? And the Philistines said, To bind Samson and to do to him as he did to us.

And three thousand men from Judah went down to the cleft of the rock Etam, and they said to Samson, Do you not know that the foreigners rule over us? And why have you done these things to us? And Samson said to them, As they did to us, so I did to them.

And they said to him, We have come down to bind you and to hand you over into the hands of the Philistines. And Samson said to them, Swear to me not to kill me yourselves, and hand me over to them, lest you yourselves meet me.

And they swore to him, saying, No, but we will bind you with a bond and will hand you over into their hands; but by death we will not put you to death. And they bound him with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock.

And he came as far as Lehi, and the Philistines shouted in meeting him, and ran to encounter him, and the spirit of the Lord rushed upon him, and the cords that were on his arms became like flax when it smells fire, and the bonds were loosed from his arms.

And he found a jawbone of a donkey thrown down on the road, and he stretched out his hand and took it, and struck with it a thousand men

And Samson said, With the jawbone of a donkey, blotted out, I have blotted them out; for with the jawbone of a donkey I struck a thousand men.

And it came to pass, when he had finished speaking, that he threw the jawbone from his hand, and he called that place Jawbone-Casting.

And he was very thirsty, and he cried out to the Lord and said, You gave into the hand of your servant this great deliverance, and now shall I die from thirst and fall into the hand of the uncircumcised?

And God opened the wound of the jaw, and water came out from it, and he drank, and his spirit returned in him and he revived. Therefore its name was called The Called Spring of the Jaw, until this day.

And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years
