How has the city sat solitary, she that was filled with peoples; she has become as a widow, she that was filled among the nations; one ruling among the lands has become for tribute.
Weeping, she wept in the night, and her tears are upon her cheeks, and there is none who is comforting her, from all those who love her; all who were loving her dealt treacherously with her, they became to her as enemies.
Judah has been moved away from her affliction and from the abundance of her servitude; she has settled among the nations. She found no rest; all those pursuing her overtook her between the oppressors.
The roads of Zion mourn because there are no ones coming at the feast; all her gates are desolated; her priests sigh; her virgins are being led away, and she herself is made bitter within herself.
Her oppressors have become for a head, and her enemies prospered, because the Lord humbled her because of the multitude of her ungodlinesses; her infants went in captivity before the face of the oppressor.
And all her beauty has gone out from the daughter of Zion; her rulers have become like rams not finding pasture, and they were going in no strength before the face of the pursuer.
Jerusalem remembered the days of her humiliation and her castings out, all her desirable things that were from days of old, when her people fell into the hands of one afflicting, and there was no one helping her; her enemies saw, they laughed over her exile.
Jerusalem has sinned a sin; therefore she has become for tossing about. All who glorified her have humbled her, for they saw her shamefulness; indeed she herself is groaning and has turned back.
Her uncleanness was in her feet; she did not remember her latter things, and she came down wonderfully. There is no one comforting her. See, Lord, my humiliation, for the enemy has magnified himself.
He has spread out his hand over all her precious things; for she saw nations entering into her sanctuary, which you commanded not to enter into your assembly.

Hear now that I groan; there is no one comforting me. All my enemies heard of my evils and rejoiced because you did it; you brought on the day, you summoned a time, and they became like me.
Let all their evil come before your face, and deal with them as they dealt wickedly, according to all my sins, for my groanings are many and my heart is grieved.
