Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which you shall eat from among all the beasts that are on the earth.
Every beast, cleaving the hoof and having split hoofs, and chewing the cud among the beasts—these you shall eat.
Nevertheless, of these you shall not eat, from those that bring up cud and from those that split the hoof and that have hoof-claws: the camel, because it brings up cud, but this one does not split the hoof; this is unclean to you.
and the hare, because it brings up cud; this also, and it does not divide the hoof, it is unclean to you
and the hyrax, because this brings up cud; this also has a hoof, but it does not split it in two—this is unclean to you
And the pig, because it cleaves the hoof, and it claws claws of a hoof, and this does not bring up cud, it is unclean to you
You shall not eat from their flesh, and you shall not touch their carcasses; these are unclean to you.
And these are what you shall eat from all that are in the waters: all whatever has fins and scales in the waters and in the seas and in the streams; these you shall eat
And all that do not have fins or scales in the water or in the seas and in the torrents, from all that the waters teem with and from every living creature that is in the water, are an abomination.
and they shall be abominations to you; from their flesh you shall not eat, and their carcasses you shall abhor
And everything that does not have fins and scales among those in the water, this is an abomination to you.
And these you shall regard as detestable from among the birds, and they shall not be eaten: an abomination it is, the eagle and the griffin and the sea-eagle.
and the vulture and the kite and the like to it
and a raven and the things like it
and the ostrich and the owl and the gull and its like, and the hawk and its like
and the night raven and the cormorant and the ibis
and the purple coot and the pelican and the swan
and an owl and a heron and a plover and the things like it and an hoopoe and a bat
And all the creeping things of the birds that go on four are abominations to you.
But these you shall eat from the creeping things of the birds, which goes on four, which has legs above its feet to leap with them on the earth
And these you shall eat from them: the bruchus and the things like it, and the attaken and the things like it, and the locust and the things like it, and the ophiomachēs and the things like it.
Every creeping thing among the birds that has four feet is an abomination to you.
And by these you shall be made unclean; everyone touching their carcasses shall be unclean until evening.
And everyone who carries of their carcasses shall wash his garments, and he shall be unclean until evening.
Among all the beasts that divide the hoof and cleave the hoof, and do not chew the cud, they shall be unclean to you; everyone who touches their carcasses shall be unclean until evening.
And every one who goes on hands among all the beasts that go on four shall be unclean to you; everyone who touches their carcasses shall be unclean until evening
And the one who takes up their carcasses shall wash his garments, and he shall be unclean until evening; these are unclean to you.
And these are unclean to you from the creeping things that creep on the earth: the weasel and the mouse and the land crocodile.
the shrewmouse and the chameleon and the lizard and the lizard and the mole
These are unclean to you among all the creeping things that are on the earth: everyone who touches them, when they are dead, shall be unclean until evening.
And everything on which anything of their dead bodies may fall will be unclean, from every wooden vessel or garment or skin or sack; every vessel that is made for work in it shall be dipped in water, and it shall be unclean until evening, and it shall be clean.
And every earthen vessel into which any of these shall fall, inside, whatever is inside shall be unclean, and it shall be broken in pieces.
And every food on which water shall come shall be unclean, and every drink that is drunk in every vessel shall be unclean
And everything that if any of their carcasses falls on it, it shall be unclean; ovens and pots shall be torn down; these are unclean, and these shall be unclean to you.
Nevertheless, springs of water and a pit and a gathering of water shall be clean; but the one touching their carcasses shall be unclean.
But if any of their carcasses falls on any sowing seed that is to be sown, it shall be clean
But if water is poured upon any seed, and some of their carcasses falls upon it, it is unclean to you.
And if any of the beasts that is for you to eat dies, he who touches their carcasses shall be unclean until evening.
And the one who eats from these carcasses shall wash his garments and shall be unclean until evening; and the one who carries away from their carcasses shall wash his garments and shall bathe in water and shall be unclean until evening.
And every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, this shall be an abomination to you; it shall not be eaten.
And everything that goes on the belly, and everything that goes on four, with respect to all that multiplies with feet among all the swarming things that swarm on the earth, you shall not eat it, because it is an abomination to you.
And you shall not abominate your souls with all the creeping things that creep upon the earth, and you shall not be defiled by them, and you shall not be unclean by them
For I am the Lord your God, and you shall be sanctified, and you shall be holy, because I am holy, I, the Lord your God; and you shall not defile your souls with any of the creeping things that move upon the earth.
For I am the Lord who brought you up out of the land of Egypt to be your God; and you shall be holy, because I am holy, I the Lord
This is the law concerning the beasts and the birds and every living creature that moves in the water and every living creature that creeps upon the earth
to make a distinction between the unclean and between the clean and between the living things that are eaten and between the living things that are not eaten
