The Koine Bible

Of David. Judge, O Lord, those who do me wrong; fight those who fight me.

Take hold of shield and buckler and arise for my help

Pour out a sword and shut against those pursuing me; say to my soul, I am your salvation.

Let them be put to shame and let them be confounded, those who seek my life; let them be turned back and let them be put to shame, those who devise evils against me

Let them become like chaff before the face of the wind, and let the angel of the Lord be pressing them out.

Let their way become darkness and slipping, and let the angel of the Lord pursuing them.

For without cause they hid for me the destruction of their snare; in vain they reproached my soul

Let a snare come upon them, which they do not know, and the trap which they hid let it seize them, and in the snare let them fall into it

But my soul will rejoice in the Lord; it will delight in his salvation.

All my bones shall say, Lord, who is like you, rescuing the poor from the hand of those stronger than him, and the poor and needy from those plundering him?

Unjust witnesses, rising up, asked me what I did not know.

They repaid me evil for good, and childlessness for my soul.

But I, when they were troubling me, was putting on sackcloth and was humbling my soul with fasting, and my prayer shall be turned back into my bosom

As one near, as our brother, so I pleased, as mourning and gloomy, so I was humbled

And against me they rejoiced and were gathered together; they were gathered together against me, scourges, and I did not know; they were torn apart and were not pierced.

They tested me, they mocked me with mockery; they gnashed their teeth against me.

Lord, when will you look on? Restore my soul from their evil-doing, from lions my only one.

I will give thanks to you, Lord, in a great assembly; in a numerous people I will praise you.

Let them not rejoice over me, those who hate me without cause, and who wink with the eyes.

For to me indeed they spoke peaceably, and against wrath they devised deceit.

And they widened their mouth against me; they said, Ah, ah, our eyes have seen it.

You have seen, O Lord; do not be silent, O Lord; do not depart from me.

Arouse yourself, O Lord, and attend to my judgment, my God and my Lord, to my cause.

Judge me according to your righteousness, O Lord my God, and let them not rejoice over me.

Let them not say in their hearts, Aha, aha, to our soul, nor let them say, We have swallowed him up.

Let them be put to shame and be confounded together, those who rejoice over my evils; let those who boast against me be clothed with shame and dishonor.

Let them exult and rejoice, those who desire my righteousness, and let them say always, Let the Lord be magnified, those who desire the peace of his servant

And my tongue shall meditate on your righteousness all the day your praise
