And every day, from day to day, Tobit counted the days in how many he would go and in how many he would return, and when the days were completed and his son was not present

he said, Perhaps he was detained there, or perhaps Gabael has died, and no one gives him the silver

and he began to be grieved

And Anna his wife says, My child has perished and no longer exists among the living, and she began to weep and lament for her son, and said

Woe is me, child, that I let you go, the light of my eyes.

And Tobith was saying to her, Be quiet, do not be troubled, sister; he is well, and there was very much disturbance to them there, and the man who went with him is faithful, and one of our brothers; do not grieve about him, sister; he will already be present.

And she said to him, Be silent from me and do not mislead me; my child has perished. And, springing out, she kept looking around at the way by which her son was going each day, and she would not be persuaded by anyone. And when the sun set, going in she was lamenting and weeping all the night, and she had no sleep.

And when the fourteen days of the wedding were completed, which Raguel had sworn to make for his daughter, Tobias went in to him and said, Send me away, for I know that my father and my mother do not believe that they will see me any more. And now I beg you, father, that you send me away and I may go to my father, for I have already indicated to you how I left him.

And Raguel said to Tobias, Remain, child, remain with me, and I will send messengers to Tobit your father, and they will inform him about you. And he said to him, By no means do I ask you to send me away from here to my father.

And Raguel, having risen up, gave Sarah the woman to Tobias, his wife, and half of all that belonged to him, male servants and female servants, oxen and sheep, donkeys and camels, clothing and silver and vessels

And he sent them away in good health, and he greeted him and said to him, Be well, child, going in good health; go, may the Lord of heaven make your way prosperous, you and Sarah your wife, and may I see your children before I die.

And Sarah said to her daughter, Go to your father-in-law, because from now on they are your parents, as those who gave birth to you; go in peace, daughter; may I hear a good report of you while I live. And having embraced them, he sent them away.

And Edna says, To Tobiah, child and beloved brother, may the Lord restore you, and may I see your children while I live, and Sarah my daughter before I die. Before the Lord I entrust my daughter to you in trust; do not grieve her all the days of your life. Child, go in peace. From now on I am your mother, and Sarah [is your] sister. May we all prosper together all the days in our life. And she kissed both and sent them away in good health.

And Tobias went away from Raguel, being in good health and rejoicing and blessing the Lord of heaven and of the earth, the king of all, because he prospered his way; and he said to him, Be it prospered for you to honor them all the days of their life.
