And when the marriage was completed, Tobit called Tobias his son and said to him, Child, see to give the wage to the man who went with you, and to add to him to the wage.

And he said to him, Father, how much shall I give him as wages? I am not harmed by giving him half of the possessions which he has brought with me.

He kept me healthy, and he healed my wife, and he brought the silver with me, and he healed you; how much reward shall I still give him?

And Tobias said to him: It is right for him, child, to take half of all that he came having.

And he called him and said, Take the half of all that you came having to your wage, and go away in good health.

Then he called the two secretly and said to them, Bless God and give thanks to him before all the living for the good things he has done with you, in order to bless and hymn his name; declare the words of God to all men honorably, and do not delay to give thanks to him.

It is good to hide a king’s secret, but to reveal the works of God and to confess honorably. Do the good, and evil will not find you.

Good is prayer with truth and almsgiving with righteousness rather than riches with injustice; it is good to do almsgiving rather than to treasure up gold

Almsgiving rescues from death, and it itself cleanses away every sin; those who do almsgiving will be satisfied with life.

Those who do sin and injustice are enemies of their own soul.

I will show you all the truth and I will certainly not hide from you any word; already I have shown you and said: it is good to conceal a king’s secret, and to reveal the works of God gloriously.

And now, when you prayed, and Sarah, I brought the remembrance of your prayer before the glory of the Lord; and when you buried the dead, likewise

And when you did not delay to rise and to leave your meal, and went away and wrapped the dead man, then I was sent to you to test you.

And at the same time God has sent me to heal you and Sarah your bride.

I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who stand and enter before the glory of the Lord.

And the two were troubled and fell on their face and were afraid

And he said to them, Do not fear; peace to you. Bless God for ever and ever.

I, when I was with you, was I not with you not by my own favor but by the will of God? Bless him in all the days; sing praise to him.

And you were watching me that I did not eat anything, but a vision was being seen by you.

And now bless the Lord on the earth and give thanks to God; behold, I am going up to him who sent me. Write down all these things that have happened to you, and he went up

And they arose, and no longer were they able to see him.

And they were blessing and hymning God and they were giving thanks to him for these great works of his, that an angel of God had appeared to them.
