τε μιμοῦνται αὐτὴν καὶ ποθοῦσιν ἀπελθοῦσαν καὶ ἐν τῷ αἰῶνι στεφανηφοροῦσα πομπεύει τὸν τῶν ἀμιάντων ἄθλων ἀγῶνα νικήσασα
and when present they imitate her, and when gone they long for her, and in the age, crowned, she proceeds in procession, having conquered the contest of undefiled prizes
δὲ ἀσεβῶν πλῆθος οὐ χρησιμεύσει καὶ ἐκ νόθων μοσχευμάτων οὐ δώσει ῥίζαν εἰς βάθος οὐδὲ ἀσφαλῆ βάσιν ἑδράσει
And the great multitude of the ungodly will not be useful, and from bastard offshoots it will not give a root to a depth nor establish a secure foundation
γὰρ ἐν κλάδοις πρὸς καιρὸν ἀναθάλῃ ἐπισφαλῶς βεβηκότα ὑπὸ ἀνέμου σαλευθήσεται καὶ ὑπὸ βίας ἀνέμων ἐκριζωθήσεται
For even if for a time it flourish in branches, it will be shaken by wind because it stands insecurely and will be uprooted by the force of winds.
The unripe branches will be broken around, and their fruit useless, unripe for eating and fit for nothing.
For from unlawful beds children begotten are witnesses of wickedness against parents in their examination.
But if a righteous man should come to completion in death, he will be in rest.
For honorable old age is not that which is long-lasting, nor is it measured by number of years.
But gray hair is prudence for men, and age of old age is a blameless life
having become pleasing to God, he was loved, and living among sinners he was transferred
He was snatched away, lest evil should change his understanding or deceit should deceive his soul.
For the bewitching of worthlessness darkens the beautiful things, and the wandering of desire overturns an innocent mind.
Being perfected in a short time, he fulfilled long times.
γὰρ ἦν κυρίῳ ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ διὰ τοῦτο ἔσπευσεν ἐκ μέσου πονηρίας οἱ δὲ λαοὶ ἰδόντες καὶ μὴ νοήσαντες μηδὲ θέντες ἐπὶ διανοίᾳ τὸ τοιοῦτο
For his soul was pleasing to the Lord; therefore he hurried away from the midst of wickedness. But the peoples, seeing and not understanding nor taking such a thing into mind,
For grace and mercy are with his elect, and visitation with his holy ones.
But a righteous man who has been made perfect will condemn the living ungodly, and youth brought to completion quickly the long old age of the unjust.
For they will see the end of a wise man and will not understand what he planned concerning him and for what the Lord made him secure.
They will see and despise them, but the Lord will laugh them to scorn.
ἔσονται μετὰ τοῦτο εἰς πτῶμα ἄτιμον καὶ εἰς ὕβριν ἐν νεκροῖς δι᾿ αἰῶνος ὅτι ῥήξει αὐτοὺς ἀφώνους πρηνεῖς καὶ σαλεύσει αὐτοὺς ἐκ θεμελίων καὶ ἕως ἐσχάτου χερσωθήσονται καὶ ἔσονται ἐν ὀδύνῃ καὶ ἡ μνήμη αὐτῶν ἀπολεῖται
And after this they will be for a dishonored fall and for reproach among the dead forever, because he will shatter them speechless, face down, and he will shake them from the foundations, and they will be laid waste even to the last, and they will be in pain, and their memory will perish
They will come in reckoning of their sins, timid, and their lawless deeds will convict them face to face.
