Now concerning the food sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.

If anyone thinks they know something, they do not yet know it as they ought to know it.
But if anyone loves God, this one is known by Him.
Concerning the eating of food sacrificed to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no god but one.
For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords,
But for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we for him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and we through him.
But knowledge is not in all. And some, because of habit, still eat food sacrificed to idols as food sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
Food will not bring us closer to God. For whether we eat or do not eat, we do not gain anything, nor do we lose anything.
Be careful that this freedom of yours does not become a stumbling block to the weak.
ἐὰν γάρ τις ἴδῃ σὲ τὸν ἔχοντα γνῶσιν ἐν εἰδωλείῳ κατακείμενον, οὐχὶ ἡ συνείδησις αὐτοῦ ἀσθενοῦς ὄντος οἰκοδομηθήσεται εἰς τὸ τὰ εἰδωλόθυτα ἐσθίειν;
For if someone who has knowledge sees you reclining at an idol, will not his conscience, being weak, be built up to eat food sacrificed to idols?
For the weak brother for whom Christ died is destroyed by your knowledge.
But thus sinning against the brothers and striking their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.
Therefore, if food causes my brother to stumble, I will never eat meat again, so that I do not cause my brother to stumble.
