Now concerning spiritual matters, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.

1 Corinthians 12
Greek text followed verse by verse by a direct English translation.

You know that when you were Gentiles, you were led astray to the mute idols as if you were being led.
Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, Anathema Jesus, and no one can say, Lord Jesus, except by the Holy Spirit.
Now there are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
And there are divisions of ministries, and the same Lord.
And there are different kinds of workings, but the same God who works all things in all.
But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,
To one faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
to another, workings of powers; to another, prophecy; to another, distinctions of spirits; to another, kinds of tongues; to another, interpretation of tongues.
But all these things are worked by one and the same Spirit, distributing to each one individually as he wills.
For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so also is the Messiah.
For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.
For the body is not one member but many.
ἐὰν εἴπῃ ὁ πούς· Ὅτι οὐκ εἰμὶ χείρ, οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ σώματος, οὐ παρὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκ τοῦ σώματος;
If the foot says, Because I am not a hand, I am not from the body, is it therefore not from the body?
And if the ear should say, Because I am not the eye, I am not from the body, it is not therefore from the body.
If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?
But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body just as he wanted.
But if all were one member, where would the body be?
But now many members, yet one body.
The eye cannot say to the hand, I do not need you, nor again the head to the feet, I do not need you.
But much more the members of the body that seem weaker are necessary,
And those parts of the body which we think to be less honorable, to these we give greater honor, and our unseemly parts have greater modesty,
But the parts of our body that seem less honorable do not need it. Rather, God has combined the body, giving greater honor to the part that was lacking,
so that there may not be division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
Now you are the body of Christ and members individually.
And God has placed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then powers, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all powers?
Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?
But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I show you a still more excellent way.
