You therefore, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus,

And what you heard from me through many witnesses, entrust these things to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.
Endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
No one serving as a soldier becomes entangled in the affairs of life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him.
If anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.
The hardworking farmer must first receive a share of the crops.
Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.
Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, from the seed of David, according to my gospel.
In which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound.
For this reason I endure everything for the sake of the elect, so that they also may obtain salvation with eternal glory in Christ Jesus.
The word is trustworthy: if we have died with him, we will also live with him.
If we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he will also deny us.
If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful; he cannot deny himself.
Remind them of these things, solemnly charging them before the Lord not to engage in quarreling over words, which is useless and leads to the ruin of those who listen.
Be diligent to present yourself to God as a tested worker, unashamed, correctly handling the word of truth.
But avoid irreverent and empty talk, for they will advance further in ungodliness,
And their word will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus,
Who have missed the mark concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection has already happened, and they overturn the faith of some.
But the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knows those who are his, and let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.
In a large house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, and some are for honor and some for dishonor.
Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, set apart, useful to the master, prepared for every good work.
But flee youthful desires, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they produce quarrels.
But the Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,
correcting those who oppose with gentleness, in case God may grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth,
and they may come to their senses out of the devil’s trap, having been captured by him to do his will.
