In which you once walked according to the age of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience.
In which also we all once lived according to the desires of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the thoughts, and we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest.
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us,
And when we were dead in trespasses, he made us alive together with the Messiah—by grace you have been saved—
and raised [us] up and seated [us] together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,
so that in the coming ages he might show the surpassing riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
not from works, so that no one may boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Therefore remember that at one time you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcision by what is called the circumcision made in the flesh by human hands,
because at that time you were without Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
For he himself is our peace, who made both one and broke down the dividing wall of hostility in his flesh,
having abolished the law of commandments in regulations, to create the two in himself into one new person, making peace,
and reconcile both in one body to God through the cross, by killing the hostility in it;
And coming, he preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.
because through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.
So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,
being built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone,
in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,
In whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
