For the law has a shadow of the coming good things, not the very image of the things themselves. It offers the same sacrifices year by year, which can never perfect those who approach continually.

For if the sacrifices offered had been able to stop those worshiping once cleansed from sin from having any further consciousness of sins,

but in these sacrifices there is a yearly remembrance of sins,

For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Therefore, coming into the world, he says, Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.

You did not desire burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.

Then I said, Behold, I have come; in the scroll of the book it is written about me, to do your will, God.

He then says, By saying above, that You did not desire sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings, which are offered according to the law,

Then he said, Behold, I have come to do your will; he takes away the first in order to establish the second.

In which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

And every priest stands daily serving and offering the same sacrifices many times, which are never able to take away sins.

But this one, having offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God,

Waiting from now on until his enemies are placed as a footstool under his feet,

For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us, for after saying,

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and on their minds I will write them.

And their sins and their lawless deeds I will no longer remember.

Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

Therefore, brothers, having confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,

a new and living way which he inaugurated for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh,

and a great priest over the house of God,

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Let us hold fast the confession of the hope without wavering, for the one who promised is faithful.

And let us consider one another to provoke to love and good works,

not neglecting to gather together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

For if we sin willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, no longer is there a sacrifice for sins,

But a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a zeal of fire about to consume the opponents.

Anyone who has rejected the law of Moses without mercy dies on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

How much worse punishment do you think will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and regarded as common the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and insulted the Spirit of grace.

For we know the one who said, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay; and again, The Lord will judge his people.

It is terrifying to fall into the hands of the living God.

Remember the earlier days, in which, having been enlightened, you endured a great struggle of sufferings,

At one time, you were made a spectacle by insults and afflictions, and at another time, you became sharers with those who were treated in this way.

For you also sympathized with those in prison and accepted the confiscation of your possessions with joy, knowing that you have for yourselves a better and enduring possession.

Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

For you have need of endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

For yet a little while, the one coming will come and will not delay.

But my righteous one will live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.

But we are not of those who draw back to destruction, but of those who have faith for the preservation of the soul.
