Watch out for the dogs, watch out for the evil workers, watch out for the mutilation.
ἡμεῖς γάρ ἐσμεν ἡ περιτομή, οἱ πνεύματι θεοῦ λατρεύοντες καὶ καυχώμενοι ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἐν σαρκὶ πεποιθότες,
For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and boast in Christ Jesus and do not put confidence in the flesh,
Although I have confidence even in the flesh. If anyone else thinks to have confidence in the flesh, I have more.
Circumcised on the eighth day, from the nation of Israel, from the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews, according to the law a Pharisee,
Zealously persecuting the church, becoming blameless according to the righteousness in the law.
But whatever was gain to me, these I consider loss because of the Messiah.
ἀλλὰ μενοῦνγε καὶ ἡγοῦμαι πάντα ζημίαν εἶναι διὰ τὸ ὑπερέχον τῆς γνώσεως Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ τοῦ κυρίου μου δι' ὃν τὰ πάντα ἐζημιώθην, καὶ ἡγοῦμαι σκύβαλα ἵνα Χριστὸν κερδήσω
But indeed I also consider everything a loss because of the surpassing value of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and I consider them rubbish in order to gain Christ.
καὶ εὑρεθῶ ἐν αὐτῷ, μὴ ἔχων ἐμὴν δικαιοσύνην τὴν ἐκ νόμου ἀλλὰ τὴν διὰ πίστεως Χριστοῦ, τὴν ἐκ θεοῦ δικαιοσύνην ἐπὶ τῇ πίστει,
and to be found in him, not having my own righteousness from the law but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God based on faith,
τοῦ γνῶναι αὐτὸν καὶ τὴν δύναμιν τῆς ἀναστάσεως αὐτοῦ καὶ κοινωνίαν παθημάτων αὐτοῦ, συμμορφιζόμενος τῷ θανάτῳ αὐτοῦ,
to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death,
If somehow I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
Not that I have already obtained or have already been perfected, but I pursue, if also I may grasp that for which I was grasped by Christ Jesus.
ἀδελφοί, ἐγὼ ἐμαυτὸν οὐ λογίζομαι κατειληφέναι· ἓν δέ, τὰ μὲν ὀπίσω ἐπιλανθανόμενος τοῖς δὲ ἔμπροσθεν ἐπεκτεινόμενος,
Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Therefore, as many as are mature, let us have this mind; and if anyone thinks differently, God will reveal this to him as well.
Only let us hold true to what we have already attained.
Be imitators of me, brothers, and observe those who walk in this way, just as you have us as a pattern.
πολλοὶ γὰρ περιπατοῦσιν οὓς πολλάκις ἔλεγον ὑμῖν, νῦν δὲ καὶ κλαίων λέγω, τοὺς ἐχθροὺς τοῦ σταυροῦ τοῦ Χριστοῦ,
For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, those who are enemies of the cross of the Messiah,
Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and their glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things.
For our citizenship exists in the heavens, from which also we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
ὃς μετασχηματίσει τὸ σῶμα τῆς ταπεινώσεως ἡμῶν σύμμορφον τῷ σώματι τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ κατὰ τὴν ἐνέργειαν τοῦ δύνασθαι αὐτὸν καὶ ὑποτάξαι αὑτῷ τὰ πάντα.
who will transform the body of our humiliation to be like the body of his glory according to the power by which he is able also to subject all things to himself.
