And Saul said to the one carrying his armor, Draw your sword and stab me with it, lest these uncircumcised men come and mock me. But the one carrying his armor was not willing, because he feared greatly. And Saul took the sword and fell upon it.
And every man of Israel who was in the plain saw that Israel had fled and that Saul and his sons had died, and they abandoned their cities and fled; and the foreigners came and dwelt in them.
And they stripped him and took his head and his weapons and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to proclaim it to their idols and to the people
And every mighty man rose up from Gilead, and they took the body of Saul and the body of his sons and brought them to Jabesh, and they buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh and fasted seven days
And Saul died in his lawlessnesses by which he acted lawlessly against the Lord, according to the word of the Lord, because he did not keep it, because Saul had inquired of the ventriloquist-medium to seek, and Samuel the prophet answered him.
