And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar wood and wall-builders and carpenters of wood, to build a house for him.

And David knew that the Lord had prepared him over Israel, because his kingdom had been greatly exalted for the sake of his people Israel.

And David took still wives in Jerusalem, and there were born to David still sons and daughters.

And these are the names of those born to him who were in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon

and Ibaar and Elisae and Eliphelet

and Nage and Naphag and Ianouou

and Elishama and Belegdae and Eliphalet

And the foreigners heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel, and all the foreigners went up to seek David, and David heard and went out to meet them

And the Philistines came and fell together in the valley of the giants.

And David inquired through God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines, and wilt thou give them into my hands? And the Lord said to him, Go up, and I will give them into thy hands.

And he went up to Baalpharasim and David struck them there, and David said, God has broken through my enemies by my hand, like a breaking through of water; therefore he called the name of that place Breaking-through of Pharasim

And they left their gods there, and David said to burn them with fire.

And the Philistines again added and fell together again in the valley of the giants.

And David inquired further of God, and God said to him, You shall not go after them; turn away from them, and you shall come upon them near the weeping-bushes.

And it shall be when you hear the sound of the marching in the tops of the pear trees, then you shall go out to war, because God has gone out before you to strike the camp of the Philistines

And he did as God commanded him, and he struck the camp of the Philistines from Gibeon as far as Gezer.

And the name of David became in all the land, and the Lord gave his fear upon all the nations.
