And he made houses for himself in the city of David, and he prepared the place for the ark of God, and he made a tent for it.

Then David said, It is not for anyone to lift the ark of God except the Levites, because the Lord has chosen them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister to him forever.

And David assembled all Israel in Jerusalem to bring up the ark of the Lord to the place which he had prepared for it

And David gathered the sons of Aaron and the Levites

of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the leader and his brothers, one hundred and twenty

of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brothers, two hundred fifty

Of the sons of Gershom, Joel the leader and his brothers, one hundred fifty

of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brothers, two hundred

of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brothers, eighty

of the sons of Uzziel, Amminadab the ruler, and his brothers, one hundred and twelve

And David called Zadok and Abiathar, the priests, and the Levites, Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah, Eliel, and Aminadab.

And he said to them, You are the heads of the ancestral houses of the Levites; sanctify yourselves, you and your brothers, and you shall carry the ark of the God of Israel, which I prepared for it.

because it was not at the first that the Lord our God broke through among us, because we did not seek him according to the ordinance

And the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the God of Israel.

And the sons of the Levites took the ark of God, as Moses commanded in the word of God, according to the writing, with the bearers upon them.

And David said to the chiefs of the Levites, Set their brothers, the singers, with instruments of songs, harps and lyres and cymbals, to sound aloud with a voice of rejoicing.

And the Levites stationed Heman son of Joel, and from his brothers Asaph son of Berechiah, and from the sons of Merari, their brothers, Ethan son of Kishaiah

and with them their brothers, the second rank, Zechariah and Uzziel and Semiramoth and Jehiel and Oni and Eliab and Benaiah and Maaseiah and Mattithiah and Eliphaliah and Makenia and Obed-edom and Jehiel and Uzziah, the gatekeepers

And the singers, Heman, Asaph, and Ethan, with bronze cymbals, to make heard.

Zechariah and Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Oni, Eliab, Maaseiah, Benaiah, with harps according to alamoth

and Mattathias and Eliphalias and Makenias and Abdedom and Iihel and Uzzias with harps of the amasenith, to strengthen them

And Chenaniah, chief of the Levites, chief of the songs, because he was understanding.

and Berechiah and Elkanah, gatekeepers of the ark

and Shebaniah and Jehoshaphat and Nathaniel and Amasai and Zechariah and Benaiah and Eliezer, the priests, blowing with trumpets before the ark of God, and Obed-edom and Jeiah, gatekeepers of the ark of God

And David and the elders of Israel and the captains of thousands were going to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-edom with rejoicing

And it came to pass when God helped the Levites carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they sacrificed seven bulls and seven rams.

And David, girded with a linen robe, and all the Levites bearing the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the singers, and Chonenias the chief of the songs of those singing, and on David a linen robe

And all Israel, bringing up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn and with trumpets and with cymbals, making a loud sound with harps and with lyres

And it came to pass, the ark of the covenant of the Lord came as far as the city of David, and Melchol daughter of Saul looked out through the window and saw King David dancing and playing, and she despised him in her soul.
