εἶπεν Δαυιδ συναγαγεῖν πάντας τοὺς προσηλύτους ἐν γῇ Ισραηλ καὶ κατέστησεν λατόμους λατομῆσαι λίθους ξυστοὺς τοῦ οἰκοδομῆσαι οἶκον τῷ θεῷ
And David said to gather together all the sojourners in the land of Israel, and he appointed stonecutters to hew dressed stones for building a house for God
σίδηρον πολὺν εἰς τοὺς ἥλους τῶν θυρωμάτων καὶ τῶν πυλῶν καὶ τοὺς στροφεῖς ἡτοίμασεν Δαυιδ καὶ χαλκὸν εἰς πλῆθος οὐκ ἦν σταθμός
And much iron for the nails of the doors and of the gates and the hinges David prepared, and bronze in abundance there was no weighing.
and cedar wood there was no number, because the Sidonians and the Tyrians were bringing cedar wood in abundance to David
εἶπεν Δαυιδ Σαλωμων ὁ υἱός μου παιδάριον ἁπαλόν καὶ ὁ οἶκος τοῦ οἰκοδομῆσαι τῷ κυρίῳ εἰς μεγαλωσύνην ἄνω εἰς ὄνομα καὶ εἰς δόξαν εἰς πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἑτοιμάσω αὐτῷ καὶ ἡτοίμασεν Δαυιδ εἰς πλῆθος ἔμπροσθεν τῆς τελευτῆς αὐτοῦ
And David said, Solomon my son is a tender child, and the house to be built for the Lord must be for greatness, above, for a name and for glory in all the land; I will prepare it for him. And David prepared in abundance before his death.
And Solomon called his son and commanded him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel.
And David said: Solomon my child came to be for me in mind to build a house for the name of the Lord God
ἐγένετο ἐπ᾿ ἐμοὶ λόγος κυρίου λέγων αἷμα εἰς πλῆθος ἐξέχεας καὶ πολέμους μεγάλους ἐποίησας οὐκ οἰκοδομήσεις οἶκον τῷ ὀνόματί μου ὅτι αἵματα πολλὰ ἐξέχεας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐναντίον μου
And the word of the Lord came upon me, saying, You have poured out blood in abundance and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for my name, because you have poured out many bloods on the earth before me.
υἱὸς τίκτεταί σοι οὗτος ἔσται ἀνὴρ ἀναπαύσεως καὶ ἀναπαύσω αὐτὸν ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐχθρῶν κυκλόθεν ὅτι Σαλωμων ὄνομα αὐτῷ καὶ εἰρήνην καὶ ἡσυχίαν δώσω ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ
Behold, a son is being born to you; this one shall be a man of rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about, for Solomon is his name, and I will give peace and quietness upon Israel in his days.
οἰκοδομήσει οἶκον τῷ ὀνόματί μου καὶ οὗτος ἔσται μοι εἰς υἱὸν κἀγὼ αὐτῷ εἰς πατέρα καὶ ἀνορθώσω θρόνον βασιλείας αὐτοῦ ἐν Ισραηλ ἕως αἰῶνος
He shall build a house for my name, and he shall be to me for a son, and I to him for a father, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom in Israel forever.
νῦν υἱέ μου ἔσται μετὰ σοῦ κύριος καὶ εὐοδώσει καὶ οἰκοδομήσεις οἶκον τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ σου ὡς ἐλάλησεν περὶ σοῦ
And now, my son, the Lord will be with you, and he will prosper you, and you shall build a house for the Lord your God, as he has spoken concerning you.
ἢ δῴη σοι σοφίαν καὶ σύνεσιν κύριος καὶ κατισχύσαι σε ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ τοῦ φυλάσσεσθαι καὶ τοῦ ποιεῖν τὸν νόμον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου
Only may the Lord give you wisdom and understanding and strengthen you over Israel, and to keep and to do the law of the Lord your God
εὐοδώσει ἐὰν φυλάξῃς τοῦ ποιεῖν τὰ προστάγματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ἃ ἐνετείλατο κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἀνδρίζου καὶ ἴσχυε μὴ φοβοῦ μηδὲ πτοηθῇς
Then he will prosper, if you keep to do the ordinances and the judgments which the Lord commanded Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and be courageous; do not fear, nor be dismayed.
ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ κατὰ τὴν πτωχείαν μου ἡτοίμασα εἰς οἶκον κυρίου χρυσίου ταλάντων ἑκατὸν χιλιάδας καὶ ἀργυρίου ταλάντων χιλίας χιλιάδας καὶ χαλκὸν καὶ σίδηρον οὗ οὐκ ἔστιν σταθμός ὅτι εἰς πλῆθός ἐστιν καὶ ξύλα καὶ λίθους ἡτοίμασα καὶ πρὸς ταῦτα πρόσθες
And behold, according to my poverty I have prepared for the house of the Lord a hundred thousand talents of gold and a thousand thousand talents of silver and bronze and iron, of which there is no weight, because it is in abundance, and wood and stones I have prepared; and to these add.
μετὰ σοῦ εἰς πλῆθος ποιούντων ἔργα τεχνῖται καὶ οἰκοδόμοι λίθων καὶ τέκτονες ξύλων καὶ πᾶς σοφὸς ἐν παντὶ ἔργῳ
And with you, in abundance, are workers making work: craftsmen and builders of stones and woodworkers, and every wise man in every work
in gold, in silver, in bronze, and in iron there is no number; arise and act, and the Lord is with you
And David charged all the rulers of Israel to help Solomon his son
κύριος μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀνέπαυσεν ὑμᾶς κυκλόθεν ὅτι ἔδωκεν ἐν χερσὶν τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν καὶ ὑπετάγη ἡ γῆ ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἐναντίον λαοῦ αὐτοῦ
Is not the Lord with you, and has he given you rest round about? For he has given the inhabitants of the land into hands, and the land was subdued before the Lord and before his people.
δότε καρδίας ὑμῶν καὶ ψυχὰς ὑμῶν τοῦ ζητῆσαι τῷ κυρίῳ θεῷ ὑμῶν καὶ ἐγέρθητε καὶ οἰκοδομήσατε ἁγίασμα κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ ὑμῶν τοῦ εἰσενέγκαι τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ σκεύη τὰ ἅγια τοῦ θεοῦ εἰς οἶκον τὸν οἰκοδομούμενον τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου
Now set your hearts and your souls to seek the Lord your God, and arise and build a sanctuary for the Lord your God, to bring in the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy vessels of God into the house being built for the name of the Lord
