And it came to pass in the four hundred and fortieth year of the exodus of the sons of Israel out of Egypt, in the fourth year, in the second month, when King Solomon was reigning over Israel,

And the house which King Solomon built for the Lord was forty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in width, and twenty-five cubits in height.

And the porch before the temple was twenty cubits the length of it, according to the breadth of the house, and ten cubits the breadth of it before the house; and he built the house and finished it.

And he made for the house windows of narrow openings, hidden.

And he gave on the wall of the house sides round about for the temple and for the debir, and he made sides round about.

The lowest side was five cubits its breadth, and the middle six, and the third seven cubits its breadth; for he gave space to the house all around, outside the house, so that they might not lay hold of the walls of the house.

And the house, in its being built with hewn, quarried stones, was built; and hammer and axe and every iron tool were not heard in the house, in its being built.

And the entrance of the side chamber of the lower part was under the right shoulder of the house, and a winding ascent was to the middle, and from the middle to the third stories.

And he built the house and completed it, and he paneled the house with cedar beams

And he built the supports throughout the whole house, five cubits its height, and he fastened the support with cedar wood.

And he built the walls of the house with cedar wood, from the floor of the house and up to the beams and up to the walls; he lined them continuously with wood on the inside, and he overlaid the inside of the house with pine boards.

And he built the twenty cubits from the end of the house, the one side, from the floor to the beams, and he made it from the debir into the holy of holies

And the sanctuary was forty cubits in front.

of the inner sanctuary in the middle of the house, to put there the ark of the covenant of the Lord

Twenty cubits was the length and twenty cubits the width and twenty cubits its height, and he overlaid it with enclosed gold and made an altar

in front of the inner sanctuary, and he overlaid it with gold

And he overlaid the whole house with gold until the completion of the whole house.

And he made in the inner sanctuary two cherubim, ten cubits in measured size.

And the wing of the one cherub was five cubits, and his second wing was five cubits, in ten cubits from the end of his wing to the end of his wing.

And so for the second cherub, in one measure and one completeness for both.

And the height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and so was the second cherub.

And both cherubim were in the midst of the innermost house, and they spread out their wings, and one wing touched the wall, and one wing touched the second wall, and their wings that were in the midst of the house touched wing to wing

And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

And he carved all the walls of the house round about with engraved carvings of cherubim and palm trees, for the inner and for the outer.

And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, of the innermost and of the outermost.

And for the entrance of the inner sanctuary he made doors of juniper wood and five-sided doorposts

and two doors of pine wood, and carvings on them, carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold, and the gold descended upon the cherubim and upon the palm trees

And thus he made for the vestibule of the temple doorposts of juniper wood, quadruple colonnades.

And in both doors were pine wood; the one door had two leaves, and its pivots; and the second door had two leaves, turning.

cherubim carved and palms and spread-out petals and surrounded with gold brought down upon the embossing

And he built the inner court, three rows of hewn stone and a row of worked cedar all around.
