And it happened, when Solomon had finished building the house of the Lord and the house of the king and all the business of Solomon, as many things as he wanted to do,
And the Lord said to him, I have heard the voice of your prayer and of your supplication, which you have made before me; I have done for you according to all your prayer. I have consecrated this house which you have built, to put my name there forever, and my eyes shall be there and my heart all the days.
And you, if you shall walk before me as David your father walked, in holiness of heart and in uprightness, and to do according to all that I commanded him, and you shall keep my ordinances and my commandments,
and I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, as I spoke to David your father, saying, a man ruling in Israel shall not be removed from you
But if you and your children turn away and turn away from me and do not keep my commandments and my ordinances, which Moses set before you, and you go and serve other gods and bow down to them
and I will cut off Israel from the land which I gave to them, and this house which I sanctified to my name I will cast out from before my face, and Israel shall be for a destruction and for a byword among all the peoples
And this house, this lofty one, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and will hiss, and they will say, For what reason has the Lord done thus to this land and to this house?
and they shall say, Because they abandoned the Lord their God, who brought out their fathers from Egypt, from a house of slavery, and they took hold of alien gods and worshiped them and served them; therefore the Lord brought this evil upon them
Hiram king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar timber and with pine timber and with gold and with all his desire; then the king gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee
