And Ahab told Jezebel his wife all that Elijah had done and how he had killed the prophets with the sword

And Jezebel sent to Elijah and said, If you are Elijah and I am Jezebel, thus may God do to me and thus may he add, that by this time tomorrow I will put your life as the life of one of them.

And Elijah feared, and rose up and went for his soul, and comes to Beer-sheba of Judah, and he left his servant there.

And he went in the wilderness a day’s journey, and he came and sat under one broom tree, and he asked for his life to die, and said, Let it be enough now; take, indeed, my life from me, Lord, because I am not better than my fathers.

And he lay down and slept there under a shrub, and behold, someone touched him and said to him, Rise and eat.

And Elijah looked, and behold, at his head a cake baked on hot coals and a jug of water, and he arose and ate and drank and, turning back, he slept

And the angel of the Lord returned a second time and touched him and said to him, Rise, eat, for the journey is too much for you.

And he rose up and ate and drank, and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights, to Mount Horeb

And he entered there into the cave and lodged there. And behold, a word of the Lord to him, and he said, What are you doing here, Elijah?

And Eliu said, I have been very jealous for the Lord Almighty, because the sons of Israel have forsaken you, they have pulled down your altars, and they have slain your prophets with the sword; and I am left alone, most solitary, and they seek to take my life, to take it.

And he said, You shall go out tomorrow and stand before the Lord on the mountain. Behold, the Lord will pass by, and a great strong wind, breaking apart mountains and shattering rocks before the Lord; the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind, an earthquake; the Lord was not in the earthquake.

and after the earthquake, fire; the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, a voice of a thin breeze, and there the Lord.

And it came to pass, as Eliou heard, that he covered his face with his mantle, and went out and stood under the cave. And behold, a voice to him and said, What are you doing here, Eliou?

And Eliu said, Being jealous I have been very jealous for the Lord Almighty, because the sons of Israel have forsaken your covenant, they have thrown down your altars, and your prophets they have killed with the sword, and I am left, I alone, and they seek to take my soul, to take it.

And the Lord said to him, Go, return on your way, and you shall come to the way of the wilderness of Damascus, and you shall anoint Hazael as king of Syria.

And Jehu son of Namessi you shall anoint as king over Israel, and Elisha son of Shaphat from Abel-maoula you shall anoint as prophet in your place.

And it shall be that the one who escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu shall put to death; and the one who escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha shall put to death.

And I will leave in Israel seven thousand men, every knee that has not bowed the knee to Baal, and every mouth that has not worshiped him.

And he went from there and finds Elisha son of Shaphat, and he himself was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he himself was with the twelve, and he came upon him and threw his mantle upon him

And Elisha left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, Let me kiss my father and I will follow after you. And Elijah said, Return, because I have done for you.

And he turned back from after him and took the yoke of the oxen and sacrificed and boiled them in the implements of the oxen and gave to the people, and they ate; and he arose and went after Elijah and ministered to him.
