4
And he came to the sheepfolds of the flocks that were on the road, and there was a cave there, and Saul entered to prepare himself, and David and his men were sitting farther inside of the cave.
5
And the men of David said to him, Behold, this is the day of which the Lord said to you, to deliver your enemy into your hands, and you shall do to him as is good in your eyes. And David arose and secretly took off the hem of Saul’s robe.
7
And David said to his men, By no means to me from the Lord, if I should do this thing to my lord, to the anointed of the Lord, to lay my hand upon him, because this one is the anointed of the Lord.
9
And David arose behind him out of the cave, and David cried out after Saul, saying, My lord, king. And Saul looked behind him, and David bowed with his face to the ground and did obeisance to him.
11
Behold, in this day your eyes have seen how the Lord delivered you today into my hand in the cave, and I was not willing to kill you, and I spared you, and I said, I will not put my hand against my lord, because this one is the anointed of the Lord.
12
And behold, the skirt of your mantle in my hand; I have cut off the skirt, and I did not kill you. And know and see today that there is no evil in my hand, nor impiety and transgression, and I have not sinned against you; but you are laying hold of my soul to take it.
