And it was reported to David, saying, Behold, the Philistines are waging war in Keilah, and they are themselves plundering the threshing floors.

And David inquired through the Lord, saying, Shall I go and strike these Philistines? And the Lord said, Go, and you shall strike these Philistines, and you shall save Keilah.

And the men of David said to him, Behold, we here in Judea are afraid, and how will it be if we go to Keilah? Into the spoil of the Philistines we shall go in.

And David asked again through the Lord, and the Lord answered him and said to him, Rise up and go down to Keila, because I am giving the Philistines into your hands.

And David and the men with him went to Keilah and fought against the foreigners and they fled from before him, and he drove off their cattle and struck them with a great blow, and David saved those who were inhabiting Keilah

And it came to pass, when Abiathar son of Ahimelech fled to David, that he also went down with David to Keilah, having the ephod in his hand.

And it was reported to Saul that David has come to Keilah, and Saul said, God has sold him into my hands, because he has been shut in by entering a city of gates and bars.

And Saul ordered all the people to go down to war against Keilah, to besiege David and his men

And David knew that Saul was not quietly withholding evil concerning him, and David said to Abiathar the priest, Bring near the ephod of the Lord.

And David said, Lord, the God of Israel, your servant has surely heard that Saul seeks to come against Keilah to destroy the city because of me.

Will Saul indeed be shut in and now come down, as your servant has heard, O Lord God of Israel? Tell your servant. And the Lord said, He will be shut in.

And David arose, and the men with him, about four hundred, and they went out from Keilah and kept going wherever they went, and it was reported to Saul that David had escaped from Keilah, and he gave up going out

And David dwelt in the wilderness in Mareshem in the strongholds, and he was dwelling in the wilderness in the hill of Ziph, in the parched land, and Saul sought him all the days, but the Lord did not give him into his hands.

And David saw that Saul was going out to seek David, and David was in the parched hill country, in the wilderness of Ziph

And Jonathan the son of Saul arose and went to David in Keilah, and strengthened his hands in the Lord.

And he said to him, Do not fear, for the hand of Saul my father will certainly not find you, and you shall reign over Israel, and I shall be second to you, and Saul my father knows so.

And both made a covenant before the Lord, and David remained in Kain, and Jonathan went away to his house.

And the Ziphites went up from the wilderness to Saul on the mountain, saying, Is not David hidden with us in Messara, in the narrow places, in the New, in the mountain of Echela, which is on the right of Jessaimoun?

And now, all that is according to the desire of the king for coming down, let it come down to us; they have shut him up into the hands of the king

And Saul said to them, Blessed are you by the Lord, because you have had compassion concerning me.

Go now and prepare still, and know his place where his foot will be quickly there, where you said lest perhaps he act cunningly.

And see and know, and we will go with you, and it shall be, if he is on the earth, I will search him out among all the thousands of Judah.

And the Ziphites arose and went before Saul; and David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, on the right side of Jeshimon, at evening.

And Saul and his men went to seek him, and they reported to David; and he went down to the rock that is in the wilderness of Maon, and Saul heard it and pursued after David into the wilderness of Maon.

And Saul and his men were going from one side of this mountain, and David and his men were on the other side of this mountain, and David was hurrying to go away from before Saul, and Saul and his men were encamping against David and his men to seize them.

And a messenger came to Saul, saying, Hurry and come, because the Philistines have attacked the land.

And Saul turned back from pursuing after David and went to meet the Philistines; therefore that place was called Division Rock.
