And I gathered them to the river that comes toward Evi, and we camped there three days, and I understood among the people and among the priests, and from the sons of Levi I did not find there
And I sent Eleazar, Ariel, Samaias, and Alonam, and Iarib, and Elnathan, and Nathan, and Zacharia, and Meshullam, men, and Joiarib and Elnathan, understanding ones.
And I brought them out to Iddo, the chief man at the place of silver, and I put words in their mouth to speak to their brothers, the Nethinim, at the place of silver, to bring us singers for the house of our God
And they came to us, as the good hand of our God was upon us, a man, Shachol, from the sons of Mooli, son of Levi, son of Israel, and his sons and his brothers came, eighteen in number.
And I proclaimed there a fast by the river Aoue, to humble ourselves before our God, to seek from him a straight way for us and for our children and for all our possessions
For I was ashamed to ask from the king a force and horsemen to save us from the enemy on the way, because we had said to the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all who seek him for good, and his might and his wrath are upon all who forsake him.
And I weighed out to them the silver and the gold and the vessels, the firstfruits of the house of our God, which the king and his advisers and his princes and all Israel who were found had lifted up.
And I said to them, You are holy to the Lord, and the vessels are holy, and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering to the Lord, the God of your fathers.
Keep watch and guard until you stand before the rulers of the priests and of the Levites and of the rulers of the ancestral houses in Jerusalem, for the tents of the house of the Lord
And we set out from the river Aoue on the twelfth of the first month to come to Jerusalem, and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of enemy and foe on the way.
And it came to pass on the fourth day that we weighed out the silver and the gold and the vessels in the house of our God into the hand of Merimoth son of Uriah the priest, and with him Eleazar son of Phinehas, and with them Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui, the Levites.
Those who had come from the captivity, sons of the sojourning, brought whole burnt offerings to the God of Israel: twelve bulls for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, twelve male goats for a sin offering; all were whole burnt offerings to the Lord
