In those days Hezekiah became sick unto death, and Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet went in to him and said to him, Thus says the Lord: Give orders to your house, for you are dying, and you shall not live.

And Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall and prayed to the Lord, saying

O Lord, remember now how I walked before you in truth and with a full heart, and I did what is good in your eyes, and Hezekiah wept with a great weeping

And Isaiah was in the middle court, and the word of the Lord came to him, saying,

Turn back and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people: Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I myself will heal you; on the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.

And I will add to your days fifteen years, and I will save you and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians, and I will defend this city for my own sake and for David my servant’s sake.

And he said, Let them take a cake of figs and lay it on the boil, and he will recover.

And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, What is the sign that the Lord will heal me and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord on the third day?

And Isaiah said, This is the sign from the Lord, that the Lord will do the word which he has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or shall it return ten degrees?

And Hezekiah said, It is a light thing for the shadow to decline ten steps; no, but let the shadow turn back ten steps backward.

And Isaiah the prophet cried out to the Lord, and the shadow turned back on the steps ten steps backward.

At that time Merodachbaladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and gifts to Hezekiah, because he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

And Hezekiah rejoiced over them and showed them all the house of his treasures, the silver and the gold, the spices and the good oil, and the house of the vessels, and whatever was found in his treasures; there was nothing that Hezekiah did not show them in his house and in all his authority.

And Isaiah the prophet came in to King Hezekiah and said to him, What did these men speak, and from where have they come to you? And Hezekiah said, They have come to me from a far country, from Babylon.

And he said, What did they see in your house? And he said, All that is in my house they saw; there was not in my house anything that I did not show them, but also the things in my treasuries.

And Isaiah said to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord.

Behold, days are coming, and all that is in your house, and whatever your fathers treasured up until this day, will be taken to Babylon, and a word that the Lord has spoken shall not be left behind.

And your sons who shall come forth from you, whom you shall beget, shall be taken, and they shall be eunuchs in the house of the king of Babylon.

And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, The word of the Lord which he spoke is good; let there be peace in my days.

And the rest of the words of Hezekiah, and all his might, and all that he did, the pool and the conduit, and brought the water into the city, are not these written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah?

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and he was buried in the city of David, and Manasseh his son reigned in his place.
