Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Opsiba.

And he did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord, according to the abominations of the nations whom the Lord drove out from before the sons of Israel.

And he turned back and built the high places that Hezekiah his father had torn down, and he set up an altar for Baal and made sacred groves, as Ahab king of Israel had done, and he bowed down to all the host of heaven and served them

And he built an altar in the house of the Lord, as he said: In Jerusalem I will place my name.

And he built an altar for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.

And he made his sons pass through the fire, and he practiced divination and augury, and he made a willer and multiplied knowers, to do what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, to provoke him to anger.

And he set the carved image of the grove in the house of which the Lord said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house and in Jerusalem, which I chose from all the tribes of Israel, and I will put my name there forever.

And I will not again cause the foot of Israel to wander from the land which I gave to their fathers, if only they will keep all that I commanded them, according to all the command which my servant Moses commanded them.

And they did not listen, and Manasseh led them astray to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, beyond the nations which the Lord destroyed from before the sons of Israel.

And the Lord spoke by the hand of his servants the prophets, saying

Because of all that Manasseh king of Judah did, these abominations, these evil things, beyond all that the Amorite who was before did, and Judah also sinned with their idols.

Not so. Thus says the Lord God of Israel: behold, I am bringing evils upon Jerusalem and upon Judah, so that both ears of everyone who hears it will ring.

And I will stretch over Jerusalem the measure of Samaria and the plumb line of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe out Jerusalem as alabaster is wiped out, wiping it out, and it is overturned on its face.

And I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance, and I will deliver them into the hands of their enemies, and they shall be for plunder and for spoil to all their enemies

because of all that they did evil in my eyes and they were provoking me from the day when I brought their fathers out of Egypt and until this day

And indeed Manasseh shed very much innocent blood, until he filled Jerusalem from mouth to mouth, besides his sins with which he caused Judah to sin, to do the evil in the eyes of the Lord

And the rest of the words of Manasseh and all that he did, and his sin which he sinned, are not these written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

And Manasseh slept with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his house, in the garden of Uzza, and Amon his son reigned in his place.

Amon was a son of twenty-two years when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem; and the name of his mother was Mesollam daughter of Arous from Jeteba.

And he did what was evil in the eyes of the Lord, as Manasseh his father had done.

And he walked in all the way in which his father walked, and he served the idols which his father served, and he worshiped them

And he abandoned the Lord God of his fathers and did not walk in the way of the Lord.

And the servants of Amon conspired against him and put the king to death in his house.

And all the people of the land struck down all those who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

And the rest of the words of Amon, all that he did, are not these things written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

And they buried him in his tomb in the garden of Uza, and Josias his son reigned in his place.
