And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, and all his force, against Jerusalem, and he encamped against it and built a siege wall against it round about.

And the city came under siege until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah

On the ninth of the month, and the famine grew strong in the city, and there were no loaves for the people of the land.

And the city was broken through, and all the men of war went out by night by the way of the gate that is between the walls, this is by the king’s garden, and the Chaldeans were against the city all around, and he went the way of the Arabah

And the force of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and they overtook him in the Araboth of Jericho, and all his force was scattered away from him

And they seized the king and brought him to the king of Babylon at Deblatha, and he spoke judgment with him.

And the sons of Zedekiah he slaughtered before his eyes, and he blinded the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him in fetters, and brought him to Babylon

And in the fifth month, on the seventh of the month, in the nineteenth year, for Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the chief cook came, standing before the king of Babylon, to Jerusalem

And he burned the house of the Lord and the house of the king and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every house he burned.

And the rest of the people left in the city, and those who had fallen away who fell over to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the support, Nebuzaradan the chief cook carried away.

And from the poor of the land the chief cook left behind as vine-dressers and as gavin.

And the bronze pillars that were in the house of the Lord and the bases and the bronze sea that was in the house of the Lord the Chaldeans broke in pieces, and they carried their bronze to Babylon.

And the pots and the basins and the bowls and the censers and all the bronze vessels with which they minister in them he took

And the firepans and the gold and silver bowls the chief cook took

the two pillars, the one sea, and the bases that Solomon made for the house of the Lord, the weight of the bronze of all the vessels was not measured

Eighteen cubits was the height of the one pillar, and the capital upon it was bronze, and the height of the capital was three cubits, and pomegranates on the capital all around, all of them bronze; and according to these was it for the second pillar, upon the sabacha.

And the chief cook took Seraiah the first priest and Zephaniah the son of the second rank and the three who were guarding the station.

And from the city he took one eunuch who was overseer over the men of the warriors and five men of those who saw the face of the king, the ones found in the city, and the scribe of the commander of the force, the one mustering the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land, the ones found in the city

And Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah

And the king of Babylon struck them and put them to death in Deblatha, in the land of Hamath, and Judah was carried away from above his land.

And the people who were left in the land of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had left, and over whom he appointed Gedaliah the son of Ahikam son of Shaphan

And all the leaders of the force, they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Gedaliah, and they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah, and Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jezaniah son of the Maakathite, they and their men

And Gedaliah swore to them and to their men and said to them, Do not fear the passage of the Chaldeans; dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it will be well with you.

And it came to pass in the seventh month that Ishmael son of Nethaniah son of Elishama, of the seed of the kings, came, and ten men with him, and he struck Gedaliah and he died, and the Jews and the Chaldeans who were with him at Mizpah.

And all the people rose up, from small even to great, and the leaders of the forces, and they entered into Egypt, because they were afraid before the face of the Chaldeans

And it happened in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-seventh of the month, Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah and brought him out from the house of his prison.

And he spoke good things with him and set his throne above the thrones of the kings with him in Babylon

And he changed the garments of his imprisonment, and he was eating bread continually before him all the days of his life.

And his provision, a regular provision, was given to him from the house of the king, a matter of a day in its day, all the days of his life.
