Woe to those who set at naught Zion and trust in the mountain of Samaria; they have gleaned the first-fruits of nations, and they themselves entered, house of Israel.

Pass through all of you and see, and go through from there to Hamath Rabbah, and go down from there to Gath of the Philistines, the strongest of all these kingdoms; are their borders more than your borders?

you who put off the evil day, and bring near the seat of violence; and lie down on beds of ivory, and are raffling on your couches; and eat lambs from the flock, and calves from the midst of the stall; and who clap your hands to the voice of the song; as those who have considered themselves to be standing, and not as those who have received healing in the day of your affliction; and they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

those who sleep on ivory beds and revel on their couches and eat lambs from the flocks and calves from the midst of the stall fed on milk

those who clap to the sound of the instruments, as standing they have considered it, and not as fleeing

those drinking filtered wine and anointing themselves with the first ointments, and they were not suffering anything over the ruin of Joseph

Therefore now they shall be taken captive from the beginning of the powerful ones, and the neighing of horses shall be removed from Ephraim

For the Lord has sworn by himself, because I detest all the arrogance of Jacob and I have hated his strongholds, and I will remove a city with all those inhabiting it

And it shall be, if ten men remain in one house, that they shall die, and the survivors shall be left.

And their relatives shall take them and force their way to bring out their bones from the house, and he shall say to the one standing over the house, Is there still anyone with you? and he shall say, No longer. And he shall say, Be silent, because of not naming the name of the Lord.

For behold, the Lord commands, and he will strike the great house with breakings and the small house with fissures.

Do horses run on rocks? Do they plow with heifers? For you have turned justice into poison and the fruit of righteousness into bitterness.

you who rejoice over nothing, who say, Have we not taken horns by our strength?

For behold, I am raising up against you, O house of Israel, a nation; and they shall oppress you, so that you do not enter into Hamath and as far as the brook of the westings.
