The priests, the Levites, the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel; the offerings of the Lord are their inheritance; they shall eat them.

And they shall have no inheritance among their brothers; the Lord himself is his inheritance, as he spoke to him.

And this is the due of the priests from the people, from those who sacrifice the sacrifices, whether a bull or whether a sheep; and he shall give to the priest the shoulder and the jaws and the stomach.

And you shall give to him the firstfruits of your grain and of your wine and of your oil, and the firstfruits of the shearing of your sheep.

For the LORD your God has chosen him from all your tribes to stand before the LORD your God to minister and to bless in the name of him, he and his sons among the sons of Israel

And if the Levite comes from one of your cities from all the sons of Israel, where he himself sojourns, according as his soul desires, to the place which the Lord may choose,

and he shall minister in the name of the Lord his God, like all his brothers the Levites who stand there before the Lord

a portion that has been divided he shall eat, besides the sale that is according to paternal lineage

But when you enter into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to do according to the abominations of those nations.

There shall not be found among you one who makes his son or his daughter pass through fire, one who divines divination, one who interprets omens, and one who augurs, a sorcerer

one who chants a charm, a ventriloquist, and a wonder-seer, one who consults the dead

For everyone doing these things is an abomination to the Lord your God, for because of these abominations the Lord will utterly destroy them before you.

You shall be blameless before the Lord your God.

For these nations, whom you are inheriting, these listen to omens and divinations; but to you the Lord your God has not given it so.

A prophet from among your brothers, like me, the Lord your God will raise up for you; him you shall listen to.

according to all that you asked from the Lord your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, We will not continue to hear the voice of the Lord our God, and this great fire we will not see any more, and we may not die.

And the Lord said to me, They have spoken all things rightly.

I will raise up for them a prophet from among their brothers, like you, and I will put my word in his mouth, and he shall speak to them according to whatever I may command him.

And the man who, if he shall not hear whatever the prophet shall speak in my name, I will take vengeance on him.

But the prophet who shall be impious to speak in my name a word which I did not command him to speak, and who shall speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.

And if you should say in your heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?

Whatever the prophet may speak in the name of the Lord and the word does not happen and this word does not come to pass, which the Lord has not spoken, that prophet spoke in impiety; you shall not spare him.
