ἔσται ᾗ ἂν ἡμέρᾳ διαβῆτε τὸν Ιορδάνην εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεός σου δίδωσίν σοι καὶ στήσεις σεαυτῷ λίθους μεγάλους καὶ κονιάσεις αὐτοὺς κονίᾳ
And it shall be on the day when you cross over the Jordan into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, that you shall set up for yourself large stones and plaster them with plaster
γράψεις ἐπὶ τῶν λίθων πάντας τοὺς λόγους τοῦ νόμου τούτου ὡς ἂν διαβῆτε τὸν Ιορδάνην ἡνίκα ἐὰν εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων σου δίδωσίν σοι γῆν ῥέουσαν γάλα καὶ μέλι ὃν τρόπον εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων σού σοι
And you shall write on the stones all the words of this law when you cross over the Jordan, when you enter into the land that the Lord, the God of your fathers, is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as the Lord, the God of your fathers, has spoken to you.
ἔσται ὡς ἂν διαβῆτε τὸν Ιορδάνην στήσετε τοὺς λίθους τούτους οὓς ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον ἐν ὄρει Γαιβαλ καὶ κονιάσεις αὐτοὺς κονίᾳ
And it shall be, when you have crossed over the Jordan, you shall set up these stones, which I am commanding you today, on Mount Ebal, and you shall plaster them with plaster.
οἰκοδομήσεις ἐκεῖ θυσιαστήριον κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου θυσιαστήριον ἐκ λίθων οὐκ ἐπιβαλεῖς ἐπ᾿ αὐτοὺς σίδηρον
And you shall build there an altar to the Lord your God, an altar of stones; you shall not wield iron upon them
ὁλοκλήρους οἰκοδομήσεις θυσιαστήριον κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου καὶ ἀνοίσεις ἐπ᾿ αὐτὸ ὁλοκαυτώματα κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου
You shall build an altar to the Lord your God of whole stones, and you shall offer up on it whole burnt offerings to the Lord your God
θύσεις ἐκεῖ θυσίαν σωτηρίου κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου καὶ φάγῃ καὶ ἐμπλησθήσῃ καὶ εὐφρανθήσῃ ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου
And you shall sacrifice there a sacrifice of peace offering to the Lord your God, and you shall eat and be filled and rejoice before the Lord your God.
And you shall write upon the stones all this law very clearly
ἐλάλησεν Μωυσῆς καὶ οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ Λευῖται παντὶ Ισραηλ λέγοντες σιώπα καὶ ἄκουε Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ γέγονας εἰς λαὸν κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ σου
And Moses and the Levitical priests spoke to all Israel, saying, Be silent and hear, Israel: on this day you have become a people to the Lord your God
εἰσακούσῃ τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου καὶ ποιήσεις πάσας τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτοῦ ὅσα ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον
and you shall listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and you shall do all his commandments and his ordinances, as many as I command you today
And Moses commanded the people on that day, saying
στήσονται εὐλογεῖν τὸν λαὸν ἐν ὄρει Γαριζιν διαβάντες τὸν Ιορδάνην Συμεων Λευι Ιουδας Ισσαχαρ Ιωσηφ καὶ Βενιαμιν
These shall stand to bless the people on Mount Garizin, having crossed over the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
And these shall stand on the curse on Mount Ebal: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
And the Levites, answering, shall say to all Israel with a loud voice
ἄνθρωπος ὅστις ποιήσει γλυπτὸν καὶ χωνευτόν βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ ἔργον χειρῶν τεχνίτου καὶ θήσει αὐτὸ ἐν ἀποκρύφῳ καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἐροῦσιν γένοιτο
Cursed is the man who shall make a graven and molten image, an abomination to the Lord, the work of the hands of an artificer, and shall put it in secret. And all the people, answering, shall say, So be it.
Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, May it be so.
Cursed is he who removes his neighbor’s boundary, and all the people shall say, Let it be.
Cursed is he who misleads a blind man on the road. And all the people shall say, Let it be.
Cursed is the one who shall turn aside the judgment of a proselyte and of an orphan and of a widow, and all the people shall say, May it be so.
ὁ κοιμώμενος μετὰ γυναικὸς τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἀπεκάλυψεν συγκάλυμμα τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐροῦσιν πᾶς ὁ λαός γένοιτο
Cursed is the one who lies with his father’s wife, because he has uncovered his father’s covering; and all the people shall say, So be it.
Cursed is he who lies with any animal. And all the people shall say, Let it be.
Cursed is he who lies with his sister, either his father’s or his mother’s, and all the people shall say, May it be done.
ὁ κοιμώμενος μετὰ πενθερᾶς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐροῦσιν πᾶς ὁ λαός γένοιτο ἐπικατάρατος ὁ κοιμώμενος μετὰ ἀδελφῆς γυναικὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐροῦσιν πᾶς ὁ λαός γένοιτο
Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law. And all the people shall say, So be it. Cursed is he who lies with his sister-in-law. And all the people shall say, So be it.
Cursed is the one who strikes his neighbor secretly. And all the people shall say: May it be.
Cursed is the one who takes gifts to strike a soul of innocent blood. And all the people shall say, May it be.
πᾶς ἄνθρωπος ὃς οὐκ ἐμμενεῖ ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς λόγοις τοῦ νόμου τούτου τοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτούς καὶ ἐροῦσιν πᾶς ὁ λαός γένοιτο
Cursed is every man who does not continue in all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, May it be so.
