If you acquire a Hebrew slave, six years he shall serve you, but in the seventh year he shall go out free, for nothing.
If he enters alone, he shall go out alone; but if a wife enters with him, then the wife shall also go out with him.
And if the lord give him a wife and she bear him sons or daughters, the wife and the children shall be the lord’s, and he himself shall go out alone.
But if the servant should answer and say, I have loved my lord and my wife and my children, I will not go away free.
Then his master shall bring him to the judgment of God, and then he shall bring him to the door, to the doorpost, and his master shall bore his ear with an awl, and he shall serve him forever
And if anyone sells his own daughter as a maidservant, she shall not go out as the female slaves run away.
If she does not please her master, who had promised her to himself, he shall let her be redeemed; but he is not authorized to sell her to a foreign people, because he has dealt unfaithfully with her.
And if he designates her for his son, he shall do for her according to the ordinance of the daughters.
And if he takes another for himself, he shall not deprive her of her due, and her clothing, and her marital rights.
And if he does not do these three things for her, she shall go out free without money.
And if anyone strikes anyone and he dies, let him be put to death with death.
But if he did not do it willingly, but God delivered him into his hands, I will give you a place to which the manslayer shall flee there.
But if anyone plots against his neighbor to kill him by treachery, and he flee from my altar, you shall take him to put him to death
Whoever strikes his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
Whoever speaks evil of his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
Whoever steals any one of the sons of Israel and, having subdued him, sells him, and he is found in his possession, let him be put to death.
And if two men abuse one another and someone strikes his neighbor with a stone or with the fist, and he does not die but is laid upon the bed,
if the man, having risen up, walks about outside on his staff, the one who struck him shall be guiltless; only he shall pay for his idleness and for his healing expenses
And if anyone strikes his male slave or his female slave with a rod, and he dies under his hands, let him surely be avenged.
But if he survives a day or two, he shall not be avenged, for it is his money.
If two men should fight and strike a woman who is pregnant, and her child comes out not fully formed, he shall be fined with a penalty, according as the husband of the woman may impose, he shall give with valuation.
But if it was formed, he shall give life for life.
eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot
burning for burning, wound for wound, bruise for bruise
And if anyone strikes the eye of his male servant or the eye of his female servant and blinds it, he shall send them out free in exchange for their eye.
And if he knocks out the tooth of his male servant or the tooth of his female servant, he shall send them out free in place of their tooth.
But if an ox gores a man or a woman and they die, the ox shall be stoned with stones, and its flesh shall not be eaten, and the owner of the ox shall be innocent.
But if the bull was wont to gore before yesterday and before the third day, and they warn his master, and he does not keep him under guard, and the bull kills a man or a woman, the bull shall be stoned, and his master shall also be put to death.
And if a ransom is imposed on him, he shall give the ransom for his life, whatever they may impose on him.
And if he horns a son or a daughter, according to this ordinance they shall do to him
And if the ox gores a servant or a maidservant, he shall give thirty didrachmas of silver to their master, and the ox shall be stoned.
And if anyone opens a pit or digs a pit and does not cover it, and a calf or an ass falls there
The owner of the pit shall repay; he shall give money to their owner, and the dead thing shall be his.
But if a man’s bull gores the bull of his neighbor and it dies, they shall give the live bull, and they shall divide its silver, and they shall divide the dead bull
But if the bull is known that it is a gorer formerly, both before yesterday and before the third day, and they have testified to its lord, and he does not remove it, he shall pay bull for bull, and the one that has died shall be his.
If however someone steals a calf or a sheep and slaughters it or sells it, he shall pay five calves in return for the calf, and four sheep in return for the sheep.
