But if the thief is found in the tunnel and, being struck, he dies, there is no bloodguilt for him.

But if the sun has risen upon him, he is liable; he shall surely pay back. But if he does not have it, let him be sold in place of the theft.

But if the theft is caught and found in his hand, from a donkey to a sheep, alive, he shall repay them double.

But if anyone grazes down a field or a vineyard and lets his beast graze down another field, he shall pay from his field according to its produce; but if it grazes down the whole field, he shall pay the best of his field and the best of his vineyard.

But if fire, having gone out, finds thorns and burns up a threshing floor or standing grain or a field, he who kindled the fire shall pay compensation.

And if anyone gives to his neighbor silver or vessels to keep, and it is stolen from the house of the man, if the thief is found, he shall repay double.

But if the thief is not found, the master of the house shall come before God and shall swear that he himself has not put his hand to the whole deposit of his neighbor.

For every declared wrongdoing, about a calf and about a beast of burden and about a sheep and about a garment and about every loss that is charged, whatever it may be, before God the case of both shall come, and the one who is found guilty by God shall pay double to his neighbor.

And if anyone gives to his neighbor an ass or an ox or a sheep or any cattle to keep, and it is broken, or dies, or becomes taken captive, and no one knows,

An oath of God shall be between both, that he has not dealt wickedly with all the deposit of his neighbor, and so his lord shall accept it, and he shall not make restitution.

But if it is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to the owner.

But if it becomes torn by beasts, he shall bring it as evidence for the hunt, and he shall not repay it

But if anyone asks from his neighbor, and it is broken in pieces or dies or is taken captive, and the owner is not with it, he shall pay back

But if the lord is with him, he shall not make restitution; but if he is a hired worker, he shall be to him in place of his wages.

But if anyone deceives an unbetrothed virgin and lies with her, he shall give her a marriage gift and shall take her to him as a wife.

But if her father should utterly refuse and does not wish to give her to him as wife, he shall pay money to the father according to the bride-price of virgins.

You shall not keep sorceresses alive.

Every one lying with an animal you shall put to death, you shall kill them with death.

Whoever sacrifices to gods shall be utterly destroyed by death, except to the Lord alone.

And you shall not mistreat a sojourner, nor shall you by no means oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

You shall not afflict any widow or orphan.

But if you afflict them with affliction, and when they cry out they cry out to me, I will surely hear their voice.

and I will be angered with wrath and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall be widows and your children orphans

And if you lend money to your poor brother among you, you shall not press him hard; you shall not put interest on him.

And if you take as a pledge your neighbor’s garment, before sunset you shall return it to him.

For this is his only covering, this his garment for his nakedness; in what shall he sleep? If then he cries out to me, I will hear him, for I am merciful.

You shall not speak evil of gods, and you shall not speak evil of the rulers of your people.

You shall not delay the firstfruits of your threshing floor and your winepress; you shall give me the firstborn of your sons.

So you shall do with your calf and your sheep and your donkey; seven days it shall be under its mother, and on the eighth day you shall give it to me.

And you shall be holy men to me, and flesh torn by beasts you shall not eat; throw it to the dog.
