And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the fifth month, on the fifth of the month, I was sitting in the house, and the elders of Judah were sitting before me, and the hand of the Lord came upon me.
And he stretched out the likeness of a hand and took me by the top of my head, and a spirit lifted me up between the earth and between the heaven and brought me to Jerusalem in a vision of God, to the thresholds of the inner gate that looks toward the north, where was the pillar of the one getting possession.
And he said to me, Son of man, lift up your eyes toward the north. And I lifted up my eyes toward the north, and behold, from the north toward the gate that is toward the east.
And he said to me, Son of man, have you seen what these are doing? They are doing great lawlessnesses here, to keep far away from my holy things, and yet you will see greater lawlessnesses.
And seventy men from the elders of the house of Israel, and Jezoniah son of Shaphan was standing in their midst before their face, and each had his censer in his hand, and the smoke of the incense was going up
And he said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing, each of them in their hidden bedroom? For they said, The Lord does not see; the Lord has abandoned the land.
And he brought me in to the porch of the gate of the house of the Lord, that looks toward the north; and behold, there women were sitting, weeping for Tammuz.
And he brought me into the inner court of the house of the Lord, and behold, on the thresholds of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and between the altar, about twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces opposite, and these were bowing down to the sun.
And he said to me, Have you seen, son of man? Is it a little thing for the house of Judah to do the lawless acts which they have done here, because they have filled the land with lawlessness, and behold, they are as those scoffing?
