ἀνθρώπου προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τοὺς προφήτας τοῦ Ισραηλ καὶ προφητεύσεις καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου
Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel, and you shall prophesy and say to them, Hear the word of the Lord.
Thus says the Lord: Woe to those who prophesy from their own heart and who at all do not see.
Your prophets, Israel, are like foxes in the ruins
ἔστησαν ἐν στερεώματι καὶ συνήγαγον ποίμνια ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Ισραηλ οὐκ ἀνέστησαν οἱ λέγοντες ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κυρίου
They have not stood in a fortified place and gathered flocks against the house of Israel; those who say in the day of the Lord have not risen up.
ψευδῆ μαντευόμενοι μάταια οἱ λέγοντες λέγει κύριος καὶ κύριος οὐκ ἀπέσταλκεν αὐτούς καὶ ἤρξαντο τοῦ ἀναστῆσαι λόγον
seeing false things, divining vain things, those who say, The Lord says, and the Lord has not sent them, and they have begun to uphold a word
Have you not seen a false vision and spoken vain divinations?
τοῦτο εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀνθ᾿ ὧν οἱ λόγοι ὑμῶν ψευδεῖς καὶ αἱ μαντεῖαι ὑμῶν μάταιαι διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐφ᾿ ὑμᾶς λέγει κύριος
Therefore say: Thus says the Lord, because your words are false and your divinations are vain, therefore behold, I am against you, says the Lord
ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ τοὺς προφήτας τοὺς ὁρῶντας ψευδῆ καὶ τοὺς ἀποφθεγγομένους μάταια ἐν παιδείᾳ τοῦ λαοῦ μου οὐκ ἔσονται οὐδὲ ἐν γραφῇ οἴκου Ισραηλ οὐ γραφήσονται καὶ εἰς τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ισραηλ οὐκ εἰσελεύσονται καὶ γνώσονται διότι ἐγὼ κύριος
And I will stretch out my hand against the prophets who see false things and who utter vain things in the instruction of my people; they shall not be, nor shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, and into the land of Israel they shall not enter; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
ὧν τὸν λαόν μου ἐπλάνησαν λέγοντες εἰρήνη εἰρήνη καὶ οὐκ ἦν εἰρήνη καὶ οὗτος οἰκοδομεῖ τοῖχον καὶ αὐτοὶ ἀλείφουσιν αὐτόν εἰ πεσεῖται
Because they led my people astray, saying, Peace, peace, and there was no peace; and he is building a wall, and they are plastering it, shall it fall?
πρὸς τοὺς ἀλείφοντας πεσεῖται καὶ ἔσται ὑετὸς κατακλύζων καὶ δώσω λίθους πετροβόλους εἰς τοὺς ἐνδέσμους αὐτῶν καὶ πεσοῦνται καὶ πνεῦμα ἐξαῖρον καὶ ῥαγήσεται
Say to those who plaster: There shall be a rain of flooding, and I will give hailstones into their bindings, and they shall fall, and a sweeping wind, and it shall be torn apart
And behold, the wall has fallen, and they will not say to you, Where is your plaster with which you plastered it?
τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος καὶ ῥήξω πνοὴν ἐξαίρουσαν μετὰ θυμοῦ καὶ ὑετὸς κατακλύζων ἐν ὀργῇ μου ἔσται καὶ τοὺς λίθους τοὺς πετροβόλους ἐν θυμῷ ἐπάξω εἰς συντέλειαν
Therefore thus says the Lord: and I will break out a sweeping blast in wrath, and in my anger there will be a flood of rain, and I will bring down the hailstones in fury for destruction.
κατασκάψω τὸν τοῖχον ὃν ἠλείψατε καὶ πεσεῖται καὶ θήσω αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν καὶ ἀποκαλυφθήσεται τὰ θεμέλια αὐτοῦ καὶ πεσεῖται καὶ συντελεσθήσεσθε μετ᾿ ἐλέγχων καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε διότι ἐγὼ κύριος
And I will tear down the wall that you plastered, and it shall fall, and I will lay it on the ground, and its foundations shall be uncovered, and it shall fall, and you shall be brought to an end with reproofs, and you shall know that I am the Lord.
συντελέσω τὸν θυμόν μου ἐπὶ τὸν τοῖχον καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀλείφοντας αὐτόν καὶ πεσεῖται καὶ εἶπα πρὸς ὑμᾶς οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ τοῖχος οὐδὲ οἱ ἀλείφοντες αὐτὸν
And I will bring my wrath to an end upon the wall and upon those who plaster it, and it shall fall; and I said to you, The wall is not, nor are those who plaster it.
τοῦ Ισραηλ οἱ προφητεύοντες ἐπὶ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ οἱ ὁρῶντες αὐτῇ εἰρήνην καὶ εἰρήνη οὐκ ἔστιν λέγει κύριος
The prophets of Israel, the ones prophesying over Jerusalem and the ones seeing peace for her, and there is no peace, says the Lord
σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ τὰς θυγατέρας τοῦ λαοῦ σου τὰς προφητευούσας ἀπὸ καρδίας αὐτῶν καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπ᾿ αὐτὰς
And you, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people, who prophesy from their own hearts, and prophesy against them.
ἐρεῖς τάδε λέγει κύριος οὐαὶ ταῖς συρραπτούσαις προσκεφάλαια ἐπὶ πάντα ἀγκῶνα χειρὸς καὶ ποιούσαις ἐπιβόλαια ἐπὶ πᾶσαν κεφαλὴν πάσης ἡλικίας τοῦ διαστρέφειν ψυχάς αἱ ψυχαὶ διεστράφησαν τοῦ λαοῦ μου καὶ ψυχὰς περιεποιοῦντο
And you shall say, Thus says the Lord: Woe to the women sewing pillows on every elbow of the hand and making veils over every head of every age, to pervert souls; the souls of my people were perverted, and souls they were getting for themselves.
ἐβεβήλουν με πρὸς τὸν λαόν μου ἕνεκεν δρακὸς κριθῶν καὶ ἕνεκεν κλασμάτων ἄρτου τοῦ ἀποκτεῖναι ψυχάς ἃς οὐκ ἔδει ἀποθανεῖν καὶ τοῦ περιποιήσασθαι ψυχάς ἃς οὐκ ἔδει ζῆσαι ἐν τῷ ἀποφθέγγεσθαι ὑμᾶς λαῷ εἰσακούοντι μάταια ἀποφθέγματα
And they were profaning me among my people for a handful of barley and for fragments of bread, to put to death souls that ought not to die and to preserve souls that ought not to live, in your speaking to a people listening vain utterances.
τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ τὰ προσκεφάλαια ὑμῶν ἐφ᾿ ἃ ὑμεῖς συστρέφετε ἐκεῖ ψυχάς καὶ διαρρήξω αὐτὰ ἀπὸ τῶν βραχιόνων ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ τὰς ψυχάς ἃς ὑμεῖς ἐκστρέφετε τὰς ψυχὰς αὐτῶν εἰς διασκορπισμόν
Therefore thus says the Lord Lord: behold, I am against your headbands with which you are twisting souls there, and I will tear them from your arms, and I will send out the souls that you are twisting, the souls of them, into dispersion
διαρρήξω τὰ ἐπιβόλαια ὑμῶν καὶ ῥύσομαι τὸν λαόν μου ἐκ χειρὸς ὑμῶν καὶ οὐκέτι ἔσονται ἐν χερσὶν ὑμῶν εἰς συστροφήν καὶ ἐπιγνώσεσθε διότι ἐγὼ κύριος
And I will tear apart your coverings and will rescue my people from your hand, and they shall no longer be in your hands for a gathering, and you shall know that I am the Lord
ὧν διεστρέφετε καρδίαν δικαίου ἀδίκως καὶ ἐγὼ οὐ διέστρεφον αὐτὸν καὶ τοῦ κατισχῦσαι χεῖρας ἀνόμου τὸ καθόλου μὴ ἀποστρέψαι ἀπὸ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτοῦ τῆς πονηρᾶς καὶ ζῆσαι αὐτόν
Because you turned aside the heart of the righteous unjustly, and I did not turn him aside, and to strengthen the hands of the lawless, so that he might not at all turn back from his evil way and live, he himself
τοῦτο ψευδῆ οὐ μὴ ἴδητε καὶ μαντείας οὐ μὴ μαντεύσησθε ἔτι καὶ ῥύσομαι τὸν λαόν μου ἐκ χειρὸς ὑμῶν καὶ γνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος
Therefore you shall no longer see false things, and you shall no longer divine divinations any more; and I will deliver my people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am Lord
