σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου τί ἂν γένοιτο τὸ ξύλον τῆς ἀμπέλου ἐκ πάντων τῶν ξύλων τῶν κλημάτων τῶν ὄντων ἐν τοῖς ξύλοις τοῦ δρυμοῦ
And you, son of man, what would the wood of the vine become among all the woods of the branches that are among the woods of the forest?
λήμψονται ἐξ αὐτῆς ξύλον τοῦ ποιῆσαι εἰς ἐργασίαν εἰ λήμψονται ἐξ αὐτῆς πάσσαλον τοῦ κρεμάσαι ἐπ᾿ αὐτὸν πᾶν σκεῦος
Will they take from it wood to make for work? Will they take from it a peg to hang on it any vessel?
πυρὶ δέδοται εἰς ἀνάλωσιν τὴν κατ᾿ ἐνιαυτὸν κάθαρσιν ἀπ᾿ αὐτῆς ἀναλίσκει τὸ πῦρ καὶ ἐκλείπει εἰς τέλος μὴ χρήσιμον ἔσται εἰς ἐργασίαν
It has been given over to the fire for consumption; the annual cleansing consumes from it, the fire, and it fails utterly; it will not be useful for work
ἔτι αὐτοῦ ὄντος ὁλοκλήρου οὐκ ἔσται εἰς ἐργασίαν μὴ ὅτι ἐὰν καὶ πῦρ αὐτὸ ἀναλώσῃ εἰς τέλος εἰ ἔσται ἔτι εἰς ἐργασίαν
Even while it is still whole, it will not be for work; not even if the fire consumes it to the end, will it still be for work?
τοῦτο εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος ὃν τρόπον τὸ ξύλον τῆς ἀμπέλου ἐν τοῖς ξύλοις τοῦ δρυμοῦ ὃ δέδωκα αὐτὸ τῷ πυρὶ εἰς ἀνάλωσιν οὕτως δέδωκα τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Ιερουσαλημ
Therefore say, Thus says the Lord: As the wood of the vine among the woods of the forest, which I have given to the fire for consumption, so I have given the inhabitants of Jerusalem
δώσω τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἐπ᾿ αὐτούς ἐκ τοῦ πυρὸς ἐξελεύσονται καὶ πῦρ αὐτοὺς καταφάγεται καὶ ἐπιγνώσονται ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος ἐν τῷ στηρίσαι με τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἐπ᾿ αὐτούς
And I will set my face against them; out of the fire they shall go forth, and fire shall devour them; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have set my face against them.
And I will give the land for desolation, because they have fallen away by a trespass, says the Lord
