They did not pour wine out to the Lord, and their sacrifices were not pleasing to him; like bread of mourning to them, all who eat them shall be defiled, because their bread shall not enter into the house of the Lord for their souls.

Therefore, behold, they shall go from the misery of Egypt, and Memphis shall receive them, and Machmas shall bury them; their silver, destruction shall inherit; thorns in their dwellings.

The days of punishment have come, the days of your recompense have come, and Israel shall be afflicted, as the prophet, the man who is beside himself, the man who bears the spirit, by reason of the multitude of your injustices your madness has been multiplied.

Like a cluster of grapes in a wilderness I found Israel, and like the first-ripe fruit on a fig tree I saw their fathers. They themselves went in to Baal-peor and were set apart to shame, and they became as the detestable ones.

All their evils are in Gilgal, because there I hated them; because of the evils of their practices I will drive them out of my house; I will by no means continue to love them; all their rulers are disobedient.
