1
At that time Merodach, son of Laadan, the king of Babylon, sent letters and envoys and gifts to Hezekiah, for he had heard that he had been sick unto death and had recovered.
2
And Hezekiah rejoiced over them with great joy, and he showed them the house of the storehouse of the spices and of the ashes and of the incense and of the ointment and of the silver and of the gold and all the houses of the vessels of the treasury and everything that was in his treasuries, and there was nothing that Hezekiah did not show in his house.
3
And Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah and said to him, What say these men, and from where have they come to you? And Hezekiah said, They have come to me from a far land, from Babylon.
4
And Isaiah said, What have they seen in your house? And Hezekiah said, They have seen all that is in my house, and there is not in my house anything that they have not seen, but also the things in my treasures.
6
Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, and they shall take all that is in your house, and whatever your fathers gathered until this day, to Babylon it shall come, and they shall by no means leave anything, said God.
