Hear these things, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and you who have come out of Judah, who swear by the name of the Lord God of Israel, remembering not in truth nor in righteousness

and supporting themselves by the name of the holy city and by the God of Israel taking their stand, Lord Sabaoth is his name

The former things I declared beforehand, and from my mouth it went out and it became heard; suddenly I did it, and it came to pass.

I know that you are hard, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your forehead bronze.

And I announced to you long ago, before it came upon you, I made it heard by you, so that you might not say, My idols did them, and so that you might not say, The carved images and the molten things commanded me.

You have heard all this, and you did not know it; but also I made known to you new things from now on, which are about to happen, and you did not say it.

Now they are coming to be, and not long ago, and not in former days you heard them; do not say, Yes, I know them.

Neither did you know, nor did you understand, nor from the beginning did I open your ears; for I knew that in utterly rejecting you would utterly reject, and as lawless you would still be called from the womb.

For the sake of my name I will show you my wrath, and I will bring my glorious things upon you, so that I may not destroy you.

Behold, I have sold you, not for silver; but I have rescued you from the furnace of poverty.

For my own sake I will do it for you, because my name is profaned, and I will not give my glory to another

Hear me, Jacob, and Israel, whom I call: I am first, and I am unto eternity.

and my hand founded the earth and my right hand established the heaven; I will call them and they will stand together

And all shall be gathered together and shall hear who has announced these things to them: I, loving you, did your will against Babylon, to take away the seed of the Chaldeans.

I spoke, I called, I brought him, and I made his way prosperous.

Draw near to me and hear these things: I did not speak from the beginning in secret, nor in a dark place of the earth. When it came to be, I was there, and now the Lord has sent me, and his spirit.

Thus says the Lord, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am your God, I have shown you, for you to find the way in which you shall walk in it.

And if you had listened to my commandments, your peace would have become like a river, and your righteousness like the wave of the sea.

And your seed would have become as the sand, and the offspring of your womb as the dust of the earth; neither now would you be utterly destroyed, nor would your name perish before me.

Go out from Babylon, fleeing from the Chaldeans; proclaim a voice of gladness, and let this become heard; proclaim it to the end of the earth; say: The Lord has rescued his servant Jacob.

And if they should thirst through the wilderness, he will lead them; water from a rock he will bring out for them; the rock will be split, and water will flow, and my people will drink.

There is no rejoicing for the wicked, says the Lord
