The Koine Bible

See how the righteous man has perished, and no one takes it to heart; and righteous men are taken away, and no one understands. For the righteous man has been taken away from before unrighteousness.

His burial shall be in peace; he has been taken away from the midst.

But you, draw near here, sons of lawlessness, seed of adulterers and of a harlot

Against whom have you reveled and against whom have you opened your mouth and against whom have you let your tongue loose? Are you not children of destruction, a lawless offspring?

You who inflame yourselves among the oaks, sacrificing your children in the ravines, among the clefts of the rocks

That is your portion, this is your lot; and to those you poured out drink offerings, and to those you offered sacrifices. Therefore over these things shall I not be angry?

On a high and lofty mountain there is your bed, and there you brought up sacrifices

And behind the posts of your door you set your memorial; you supposed that if you should go away from me, you would have more; you loved those lying down with you

And you increased your fornication with them, and you made many those far away from you, and you sent ambassadors beyond your borders, and you turned and were humbled as far as Hades

In your many journeys you have labored, and you did not say, I will cease, strengthening yourself, because you did these things; therefore you did not beseech me.

And you, having feared whom, did you fear, and did you lie to me and did you not remember me nor take me into your mind nor into your heart? And I, seeing you, pass by, and me you did not fear.

And I will declare my righteousness and your evils, which will not profit you.

When you cry out, let those save you in your affliction; for these all a wind will take and a storm will carry away, but those who hold fast to me will possess the land and will inherit my holy mountain

And they will say, Clean out the roads from before his face, and lift up the stumbling blocks from the way of my people

Thus says the Lord, the Most High, who dwells in the heights forever, holy among the holy ones is his name, the Lord Most High, resting among the holy ones and giving longsuffering to the fainthearted and giving life to those broken in heart

I will not avenge you forever, nor will I be angry with you continually, for spirit will go forth from me, and every breath I have made.

Because of sin I grieved him for a little while and struck him and turned my face away from him, and he was grieved and went on gloomy in his ways

I have seen his ways, and I healed him and comforted him and gave him true consolation

Peace upon peace to the far and to the near, and the Lord said, I will heal them

But the unrighteous will be tossed thus, and they will not be able to rest.

There is no joy for the ungodly, said the Lord God.
