τὰ ἁμαρτήματα ὑμῶν διιστῶσιν ἀνὰ μέσον ὑμῶν καὶ τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ διὰ τὰς ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν ἀπέστρεψεν τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ ἀφ᾿ ὑμῶν τοῦ μὴ ἐλεῆσαι
but your sins separate between you and God, and because of your sins he turned away his face from you, so as not to show mercy
γὰρ χεῖρες ὑμῶν μεμολυμμέναι αἵματι καὶ οἱ δάκτυλοι ὑμῶν ἐν ἁμαρτίαις τὰ δὲ χείλη ὑμῶν ἐλάλησεν ἀνομίαν καὶ ἡ γλῶσσα ὑμῶν ἀδικίαν μελετᾷ
For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with sins; and your lips have spoken lawlessness, and your tongue meditates injustice.
λαλεῖ δίκαια οὐδὲ ἔστιν κρίσις ἀληθινή πεποίθασιν ἐπὶ ματαίοις καὶ λαλοῦσιν κενά ὅτι κύουσιν πόνον καὶ τίκτουσιν ἀνομίαν
No one speaks what is right, nor is there true judgment; they trust in vanities and speak emptiness, because they conceive toil and bring forth lawlessness.
ἀσπίδων ἔρρηξαν καὶ ἱστὸν ἀράχνης ὑφαίνουσιν καὶ ὁ μέλλων τῶν ᾠῶν αὐτῶν φαγεῖν συντρίψας οὔριον εὗρεν καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ βασιλίσκος
They have broken the eggs of asps, and they weave a spider’s web; and the one about to eat one of their eggs, having crushed it, found a viper, and in it a basilisk.
ἱστὸς αὐτῶν οὐκ ἔσται εἰς ἱμάτιον οὐδὲ μὴ περιβάλωνται ἀπὸ τῶν ἔργων αὐτῶν τὰ γὰρ ἔργα αὐτῶν ἔργα ἀνομίας
Their web shall not become a garment, nor shall they by no means cover themselves with their works; for their works are works of lawlessness.
δὲ πόδες αὐτῶν ἐπὶ πονηρίαν τρέχουσιν ταχινοὶ ἐκχέαι αἷμα καὶ οἱ διαλογισμοὶ αὐτῶν διαλογισμοὶ ἀφρόνων σύντριμμα καὶ ταλαιπωρία ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν
And their feet run to evil, swift to pour out blood, and their thoughts are thoughts of fools; crushing and misery are in their ways
ὁδὸν εἰρήνης οὐκ οἴδασιν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν κρίσις ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν αἱ γὰρ τρίβοι αὐτῶν διεστραμμέναι ἃς διοδεύουσιν καὶ οὐκ οἴδασιν εἰρήνην
And a way of peace they do not know, and there is no judgment in their ways; for their paths are twisted, which they travel through, and they do not know peace.
τοῦτο ἀπέστη ἡ κρίσις ἀπ᾿ αὐτῶν καὶ οὐ μὴ καταλάβῃ αὐτοὺς δικαιοσύνη ὑπομεινάντων αὐτῶν φῶς ἐγένετο αὐτοῖς σκότος μείναντες αὐγὴν ἐν ἀωρίᾳ περιεπάτησαν
Therefore judgment has stood far from them, and righteousness shall certainly not overtake them; when they waited for light, darkness came to be for them; waiting for dawn, they walked in gloom
ὡς τυφλοὶ τοῖχον καὶ ὡς οὐχ ὑπαρχόντων ὀφθαλμῶν ψηλαφήσουσιν καὶ πεσοῦνται ἐν μεσημβρίᾳ ὡς ἐν μεσονυκτίῳ ὡς ἀποθνῄσκοντες στενάξουσιν
They shall grope like blind men a wall, and like those without eyes they shall grope, and they shall fall at midday as in midnight; as dying men they shall groan.
ἄρκος καὶ ὡς περιστερὰ ἅμα πορεύσονται ἀνεμείναμεν κρίσιν καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν σωτηρία μακρὰν ἀφέστηκεν ἀφ᾿ ἡμῶν
Like a bear and like a dove, we shall go together; we waited for judgment, and there is no salvation; it has stood far off from us.
γὰρ ἡμῶν ἡ ἀνομία ἐναντίον σου καὶ αἱ ἁμαρτίαι ἡμῶν ἀντέστησαν ἡμῖν αἱ γὰρ ἀνομίαι ἡμῶν ἐν ἡμῖν καὶ τὰ ἀδικήματα ἡμῶν ἔγνωμεν
For our lawlessness before you is many, and our sins have stood against us; for our lawlessnesses are in us, and our injustices we have known.
καὶ ἐψευσάμεθα καὶ ἀπέστημεν ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐλαλήσαμεν ἄδικα καὶ ἠπειθήσαμεν ἐκύομεν καὶ ἐμελετήσαμεν ἀπὸ καρδίας ἡμῶν λόγους ἀδίκους
We have acted impiously and lied and turned away from behind our God; we spoke unjust things and disobeyed; we conceived and meditated from our heart words of injustice
ἀπεστήσαμεν ὀπίσω τὴν κρίσιν καὶ ἡ δικαιοσύνη μακρὰν ἀφέστηκεν ὅτι καταναλώθη ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν ἡ ἀλήθεια καὶ δι᾿ εὐθείας οὐκ ἠδύναντο διελθεῖν
And we drove back judgment, and righteousness has stood far away, because truth has been consumed in their ways, and through straight paths they were not able to pass through
ἡ ἀλήθεια ἦρται καὶ μετέστησαν τὴν διάνοιαν τοῦ συνιέναι καὶ εἶδεν κύριος καὶ οὐκ ἤρεσεν αὐτῷ ὅτι οὐκ ἦν κρίσις
And truth has been taken away, and they turned aside the mind from understanding, and the Lord saw, and it did not please him, because there was no judgment
εἶδεν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ἀνήρ καὶ κατενόησεν καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἀντιλημψόμενος καὶ ἠμύνατο αὐτοὺς τῷ βραχίονι αὐτοῦ καὶ τῇ ἐλεημοσύνῃ ἐστηρίσατο
And he saw, and there was no man, and he considered, and there was none who would help, and he defended them by his arm, and by his mercy he upheld them.
ἐνεδύσατο δικαιοσύνην ὡς θώρακα καὶ περιέθετο περικεφαλαίαν σωτηρίου ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς καὶ περιεβάλετο ἱμάτιον ἐκδικήσεως καὶ τὸ περιβόλαιον
And he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and placed a helmet of salvation upon his head, and wrapped himself in a garment of vengeance, and the cloak
as one about to repay repayment, reproach to the adversaries
φοβηθήσονται οἱ ἀπὸ δυσμῶν τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου καὶ οἱ ἀπ᾿ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου τὸ ὄνομα τὸ ἔνδοξον ἥξει γὰρ ὡς ποταμὸς βίαιος ἡ ὀργὴ παρὰ κυρίου ἥξει μετὰ θυμοῦ
And those from the west will fear the name of the Lord, and those from the rising of the sun, his glorious name; for he will come like a violent river, the wrath from the Lord; he will come with fury.
And the deliverer will come on account of Zion, and he will turn away ungodlinesses from Jacob
αὕτη αὐτοῖς ἡ παρ᾿ ἐμοῦ διαθήκη εἶπεν κύριος τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἐμόν ὅ ἐστιν ἐπὶ σοί καὶ τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἔδωκα εἰς τὸ στόμα σου οὐ μὴ ἐκλίπῃ ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου καὶ ἐκ τοῦ στόματος τοῦ σπέρματός σου εἶπεν γὰρ κύριος ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα
And this is my covenant with them, said the Lord: my Spirit, which is upon you, and the words which I have given into your mouth, shall not fail out of your mouth and out of the mouth of your seed, said the Lord, from now and forever.
