Inquire of the Lord for us, because the king of Babylon has come against us; whether the Lord will do according to all his wonders and will depart from us
Thus says the Lord: behold, I am turning back the weapons of war with which you fight against the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the wall, into the midst of this city.
And after these things thus says the Lord: I will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his servants and the people left in this city from death and from famine and from the sword into the hands of their enemies, those who seek their lives, and they will strike them down with the edge of the sword; I will not spare them, and I will not at all have compassion on them.
He who dwells in this city shall die by sword and by famine, and he who goes out to join the Chaldeans who have besieged you shall live, and his life shall be for spoil, and he shall live.
For I have set my face against this city for evils and not for good; it shall be given into the hands of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.
House of David, thus says the Lord: judge in the morning judgment, and direct, and rescue the plundered from the hand of the one wronging him, lest my anger be kindled like fire and it shall burn, and there will be no one extinguishing it.
