Their place was deceived. Deepen yourselves for dwelling, you who dwell in Dedan, because he has done difficult things; I brought upon him in the time when I visited upon him.
For vintage-dressers have come to you; they shall not leave you gleanings. Like thieves by night they shall lay their hand upon their own hand.
For I have dragged down Esau, I uncovered their hidden things, so that they may by no means be able to hide; they have perished by the hand of his brother and his neighbor, and there is none.
To leave your orphan, so that he may live; and I shall live, and widows have put their trust in me
For thus said the Lord: Those who had no law to drink the cup drank it; and you, shall you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, for in drinking you shall drink.
For I have sworn by myself, says the Lord, that you shall be for a desolation and for a reproach and for a curse in the midst of her, and all her cities shall be desolate forever.
I have heard a report from the Lord, and he sent messengers to the nations: Gather yourselves and come against her; arise for war.
I gave you a little one to be despised among the nations, among men.
Your prank has undertaken you, the shamelessness of your heart has undone you; holes in rocks, it seized the strength of a high hill, because it has lifted up its nest like an eagle; from there I will bring you down
And Idumea shall be a wasteland; everyone who passes by her shall hiss at her.
As Sodom and Gomorrah and its neighbors were overthrown, says the Lord Almighty, no man shall sit there, and no son of man shall dwell there.
Behold, like a lion he shall come up from the midst of the Jordan to the place of Etham, for I shall quickly drive them away from it, and appoint the young men over it. For who is like me, and who will stand against me, and who is this shepherd who will stand before my face?
Therefore hear the plan of the Lord that he has planned against Idumea and his thought that he has thought against those dwelling in Thaiman: surely the least of the sheep will be consumed, surely their dwelling will not be laid waste upon it
For from the sound of their fall the earth was shaken, and your cry was heard in the sea.
Behold, as an eagle he will look, and he will stretch out his wings over her strongholds, and the heart of the mighty of Idumea shall be in that day like the heart of a woman in labor
To the sons of Ammon thus says the Lord: Are there not sons in Israel, or is there not a one to receive them? Why has Melchom taken Gad away, and his people shall dwell in their cities?
Therefore behold, days are coming, says the Lord, and I will cause to be heard upon Rabbath the tumult of wars, and it shall be for desolation and for ruin, and her altars shall be burned up in fire, and Israel shall take possession of his rule.
Cry aloud, Heshbon, for Ai has perished; cry out, daughters of Rabbah, gird yourselves with sacks, and lament, and mourn over Melchom, for his priests and his rulers shall go together into captivity.
Why do you exult in the plains, daughter of recklessness, the one trusting in her treasures, the one saying, Who will come in against me?
Behold, I am bringing fear upon you, says the Lord, from all your surrounding neighbors; and you shall be scattered, each one to his face, and there shall not be one gathering them.
Thus says the Lord to Kedar, queen of the court, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck: Rise up and go up against Kedar, and fill the sons of Kedom.
their tents and their sheep they will take, their garments and all their utensils, and their camels they will take for themselves; and call against them destruction from around
Flee, make yourselves very deep for a dwelling, sitting in the courtyard, because the king of Babylon has taken counsel against you, a counsel, and he has devised a plan against you.
Rise up and go up against a nation at ease, sitting in rest, which has no doors, no bars, no bolts, alone they dwell down there.
And their camels shall be for plunder, and the multitude of their livestock for destruction, and I will scatter them to every wind, shaved before their face; from every side of them I will bring their turn, says the Lord
And the court shall be a haunt of sparrows, and impassable forever; no man shall sit there, and no son of man shall dwell there.
At Damascus Hamath and Arphad were put to shame, because they heard an evil report; they were dismayed, they were enraged, they will by no means be able to rest.
Damascus has become enfeebled; it has turned to flight; trembling has seized her.
Why has he not left my city? They loved a village.
Therefore your young men shall fall in your streets, and all your fighting men shall fall, says the Lord
And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Damascus, and it shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
