to Jeremiah the prophet, and they said to him, let, please, our mercy fall before your face, and pray to the Lord your God concerning these remnants, because we have been left few from many, as your eyes see
And Jeremiah said to them, I have heard; behold, I will pray to the Lord our God according to your words, and it shall be that the word which the Lord may answer I will announce to you; I will surely not hide a word from you.
And they themselves said to Jeremiah, Let the Lord be among us as a righteous and faithful witness, if not according to every word which the Lord may send you to us, so we will do.
And whether good or whether evil, we will listen to the voice of the Lord our God to whom we are sending you, so that it may be better for us, because we will listen to the voice of the Lord our God
If you indeed sit down in this land, I will build you up and I will not pull down, and I will plant you and I will not uproot, because I have relented concerning the evils which I did to you.
Do not fear because of the face of the king of Babylon, whom you fear because of his face; do not fear, says the Lord, for I am with you to deliver you and to save you from his hand.
For into the land of Egypt we will enter, and we shall certainly not see war, and the sound of a trumpet we shall certainly not hear, and with bread we shall certainly not hunger, and there we will dwell
And the sword that you fear before it will find you in the land of Egypt, and the famine of which you have concern before it will overtake you behind you in Egypt, and there you will die.
And all the men and all the foreigners who have set their face toward the land of Egypt to dwell there shall perish by the sword and by famine, and there shall not be any of them escaping from the evils that I am bringing upon them.
For thus said the Lord: just as my wrath was poured out upon those who inhabit Jerusalem, so my wrath will be poured out upon you when you enter into Egypt, and you shall be for an uninhabited place and subdued and for a curse and for a reproach, and you shall surely no longer see this place.
For you have acted wickedly in your souls by sending me, saying, Pray for us to the Lord, and according to all that the Lord may speak to you we will do.
